How did I miss that we were back? :woman_facepalming:t3:

Are these the comics we should read for the month?

For our first week I have Vic Sages entry from Who’s Who and a summary of his first appearance in Blue Beetle. #1 (1967).

The discussion question for this week is: What is your favorite story that features the Vic Sage version of The Question?

Good too see you @AlexCarr!

The first week’s issues are listed in the post above. Well actually it’s more of a summary of who Vic Sage is and a summary of his first appearance but still.

I don’t know a lot about the question. Looking forward to seeing everyone s thoughts and contributions for some good stories to read

Does the Question actually wear orange socks?

We rarely get a view of The Question’s socks in the comics, but when we do, they’re always black, or blue. That wouldn’t have been a funny answer in the JLU episode where that reference comes from, though, so they changed it up there.

Whats a good Question story? One for a newbie to the character like me

The best place to start with The Question is Denny O’Neil and Denys Cowan’s series from 1987. It’s the highlight of a historic career.

I was hoping you’d make an appearance here. Feel free to add any information you know to the discussion.

Where does The Question get his cool threads?

And that series will be our next stopping point.

Great question! Q’s wardrobe, like his pseudoderm, comes courtesy of his friend and ally Tot Rodor. They’re specially treated so that they change color when Vic releases the binary gas that seals his pseudoderm mask to his face, to further help disguise his identity.

My all time favorite Question story is the first arc of Denny O’Neil and Denys Cowan’s 80s series, “Zen and Violence.” It’s a complete reinvention of the character from his Ditko years placing him against an existential near-death experience and a city teeming with corruption. It’s the story of a man picking up the broken pieces of his life and starting over as something better, with the chance to grow.

Cool, cool. That story is our next stop. Got any other favs in the 87 series?

The Annual, “Fables,” is one of his best single issues, and really hits the themes of perceived failure. I love issue 14, where he lasts three days being buried up to his neck; 17, where he decides to try imitating Rorschach; and 26, where he confronts The Riddler. But it’s all really worth reading.

Well it was good to be back for a moment until I got locked out of my account.:woman_facepalming:t3: Back in now though, so I’ll jump in for week 2.

Sorry to hear that @AlexCarr. Glad you’re back.

Now here is Week 2. As I said earlier we will be diving into 1986’s The Question with the first three issues of that series.

I have two questions for everyone.

  1. What did you think of the first few issues?

  2. What do you think of Vic at this stage of his life?

Here is the issues to read for Week Three.

This week’s discussion point is:

  • What was your favorite part of these six issues?
