The Question Thread

This Thread is all about one of my favorite character from DC Comics, The Question. A few years ago I have made up a quote for The Question and I just love having him say it like Superman has his own famous quote.
I would have the Question say, ‘Mystery never sleep, even when The Question is on the case.’
I like The Question cause he’s so mysterious and trys to solve any unsolved case or conspiracy, his favorite show is probably would be Unsolved Mysteries where he might solve a mystery.
Anyway this thread is all about the Question from comics, to tv shows, movie, toys, & videogame.
Have fun, I actually do have a toy of The Question from Justice League Unlimited. I always had fun playing with it, my favorite episode of The Question is from Justice League Unlimited where he and Green Arrow helping Supergirl after she had some disturbing dreams.

Remember to say nice things to Clark daughter. It is in my will if I die he gets custody of my kids. When babysitting he made Lego Tim (disguised as Damian) go to bed at 4PM.

I love The Question! he’s my second favorite DC hero. I love character’s who whilst having kind of sucky lives achieve their goals through sheer willpower alone (i.e. John Wick, Guts, Daredevil etc.) and Vic Sage is definitely one of those characters.

Part of what I love about The Question is that he is like those guys in a sense, but he so often does NOT achieve his goals. He is often not strong enough, or fast enough, or clever enough. But he still keeps trying.

The Question is one of my favorite characters of all time. Based on the tropes of pulpy detective and crime noir stories, Vic Sage (I know his name was retconned to Charles Victor Szasz but I prefer his original name) is a man obsessed with justice and seeks out corruption in a neverending crusade that makes Batman’s mission small in comparison. His original depiction was a man who sees things in only black and white, but following COIE, Dennis O’Neil wrote the first DC ongoing for the character that I absolutely love. Introduces shades of gray into the character’s world but never lost the essence of who Sage was.

Years after that series ended, Sage would team-up with Renee Montoya (another underrated character I adore). By the time their journey came an end in “52”, I was genuinely sad to see Sage die. But Renee’s time as the faceless vigilante is a time to admire.

I loved their surprise reunion in the Lois Lane limited series. Another recent piece of The Question’s history I got into is the Black Label book “The Deaths of Vic Sage”. A more experimental story for Sage and one that brings him a bit closer to his original depiction as well as the Watchmen character Rorschach. Long story short - I love both Vic Sage and Renee Montoya as The Question, one of my favorite characters of all time.

But will he keep appearing in the far future? Now THAT is a good question…

For anyone who hasn’t checked it out, Vic had a great team-up story with Batman in last year’s Urban Legends #14, calling back to their earliest encounters and reflecting on how The Question has grown since then. Wish I could see more stories like this.
