King’s mini-series is pretty stand-alone. I don’t think it even effected the DCU.

In terms of appearing elsewhere, I remember seeing them on Supergirl when Marc Andreyko took over during the Bendis era.

I read it. It is very good. It seemed self contained.
It uses Kyle Rayner Green Lamtern.
If you know what a Green Lantern is, you are good to go.
