Movies - Heath Ledger as Joker, and (unpopular opinion coming up) Tom Hardy as Bane
TV Shows - Cory Michael Smith as the Joker, and April Bowlby as Rita Farr (TV’s a tough one, because there are so many good ones)
Movies: Christopher Reeve as Superman, Gary Oldman as Jim Gordon
TV: Teri Hatcher as Lois Lane, Burt Ward as Robin
Animated: Kevin Conroy as Batman, Mark Hamill as Joker
Movies: Christopher Reeve as Clark Kent/Superman and Michael Keaton as Batman/ Bruce Wayne,
TV: Teri Hatcher as Lois Lane and Jack Larsen as Jimmy Olsen
This is a tough one! I honestly think that every actor brings something very special to the character and it’s hard to pick a favorite. If you did twist my arm, though, these would be my picks:
Film: Heath Ledger as the Joker - I just can’t forget his portrayal.
TV: Stephen Amell as Green Arrow - He brought a realism to the character that I don’t think many people expected. He defined who the TV version of Green Arrow was.
Film: Christopher Reeve as Superman and Jack Nicholson as the Joker. No question.
TV (assuming we mean live action): Alright, I’m gonna be that guy and say Frank Gorshin as the Riddler and Burgess Meredith as the Penguin. I mean, come on. They were perfect. Meredith could totally have even pulled off a serious Penguin.
TV (allowing for voice actors): Mark Hamill as the Joker and… I’m gonna go outside the box and say Susan Eisenberg as Wonder Woman.
I’ll throw in another pair since some folks are listing multiples.
Film: Jackie Cooper as Perry White
TV: Frank Gorshin as Riddler (that is still the single greatest character study of any Batman villain in film tv (live action or animated)
Best animated casting: Clancy Brown as Lex Luthor, Rino Romano as Batman and Susan Eisenberg as Wonder Woman.
