Yeah Zod is obviously not an El. I think it was just a moment of pride for Jor El, seeing his family come together to take on Zaar. The fact that they were able to unite with a long time adversary in Zod, as Kryptonians, makes it even more powerful in my opinion. Will be interesting to see where DC takes Zod after this.
