This limited series got off to a fine start with issue 1. My first time reading it. Well structured script from Gregg Hurwitz. Atmospheric art from Syzmon Kudranski . A cold world indeed, the tone set on point by those initial few pages, with baby Cobblepot laid out on the edge of the bed, primal scene enacted.

Honestly, there aren’t a lot of good Penguin focused stories out there. This is the best Penguin story in comics, for my tastes anyway.
It’s basically the Penguin Equivalent of Azzarello and Bermejo’s Joker. Batman’s world from the villain’s perspective. Good stuff.

Yes, a most underrated series with style, with emotional weight. Glad the collection here in DC Universe can bring it again to light.
