I love a good, creative, explosion sound. This one is delovely.

That one is really good. I like that you can hear the whoosh of air from the blast at the end.

Oh, I didn’t even realize that’s our first M!

I adore the simple perfection of THP.
But that WHZZZZZZZZZZZZ needs a clank of some sort on the end.

I agree. WHZZZZZZZZZZZZSSHK would be my choice.

This feels like the time to say that “rip” is my least favorite onomatopoeia. It just doesn’t convey the right sound to me.

Good point! It’s a word that describes an action, not the sound of that action.

Even though here it is not describing tearing a piece of paper or similar, it is crunching some wooden planks. That certainly doesn’t make the sound RIP

I can’t think what would make the sound RIP… I’m voting that RIP is not a sound.

Maybe a tired frog letting out a half-ribbit?

It’s got that p on the end which means there is a sudden air sound. A frog or machinery maybe?

I’ve now got a very slow moving steam-and-clock-works frog automaton death machine in my head. Very slowly and steadily lurching towards its intended target, pushing up off piston legs, then landing in a cloud of dust.
