Most likely it’ll be a boring VOL III name to stay formatting clean, but I’ll certainly take suggestions!
I’ll never say “no” to Eye of the Tiger!
How about Office Hours Vol. III: The Revenge of Oracle?
Yay, I’m so happy that got updated! Fixes will continue to abound far and wide
Absolutely! They’ve definitely had their fair share of reminders that “more than clothes” is a common request. I woud love to see a world where we have so many toys and figures we can serve both the popular and obscure characters
Any chance you could take a screenshot next time it happens so I can check it against what I have here in the system? I’m wondering if there’s some unique scenario being triggered- I agree, it should say how big!
Haven’t found a pattern to say for sure, yet, but will do, Captain. (Nick Frost came up first, so that’s the ONE. I’m pretty sure this is from Spaced too )
OMG… I used to be obsessed with zombies. I wonder what happened? I’m ready to get thoughtful on zombies at the drop of a hat
I’ll go out on a limb (from my own perspective anyway) and say they’re just not as interesting anymore? I watch things like this partially out of habit, lol, and hoping something different happens. My expectations weren’t high, which is why I’m a bit surprised it still kinda disappointed? Had a fun debate about it tho And there’s plenty o’ other stuff to watch—too much actually. This can wait…or I do a super nerdy thing and grab the time stamps for you just so you can see her! ?
Also: No idea why that panda seems to be so happy, but who am I to judge? Okay, bye.
How about Office Hours Vol. III: The Revenge of Oracle?
That’s a good one!!!
I walked back to the action figure aisle and put all four figures back.
Congratulations on the ironclad willpower! That’s something to be proud of It leaves room in your life for what you KNOW you need
You left out the “r” in the second “Vroom”, but this made me smile so dang much that I’ll let it slide.
Awwww darnit! I guess it kind of sounds like the name gets French at the end there, though?
I haven’t seen Veneno, I haven’t even heard of it!
Oh wow, this sounds really important- thank you so much for the recommendation.
Adds to list
@Applejack With the news that CA is planning on being fully re-opened in the next month, has that spurred any discussion about in-person events in the coming months?
I’m sure TPTB at DCUI/WB are going to wait a few months to see just how things actually progress, but is there any publicly-sharable info that can at least hint that forthcoming events have been discussed to some extent?
Nothing concrete, but phrases like “looking forward to events when we’re ready” “hope we can do xyz when we’re ready” are starting to be uttered. Folks are also starting to go back into the office in reservation phases. It might not be too far away, hopefully
O’er in the Iceberg Lounge, I suggested a DCUI meet-up at Denny’s. Maybe rent the joint (WB can swing it ), and deck it out with all kinds of DC decorations (Party City and Target carry a metric **** ton of DC decor), DC-music on the speakers (maybe @Mae can DJ?) and run DC videos on a loop on their flat screens. Sure, its no Fan Event (scale-wise), but we were talking about Denny’s in the IL and this being a DC dealio, the two just kind of went hand-in-hand, you know?
To quote a wise man: “What do you think?”
This honestly sounds like the best meet-up ever- way better than the big splashy ones I used to love me some late-nights at Denny’s! Would the servers be in cosplay? Would the menu be updated to be only DC-centric food puns?
Hiya @Applejack
This is a reminder about Meta Madhouse 2022. Has the planning started yet?
Glob, you’re good. It hasn’t, but you’re right that now is a good time to start reminding folks Feel free to nudge me for updates on this often and enthusiastically!
I’ll be talking more about the 3rd installment of Office Hours at the end of tonight’s session!
Oooh. I was going to go, but I guess I’ll keep lurking for a bit…
[edit] I’ll be proud. A+ for a straight reply. Boom!
Say hey @Applejack, here’s an idea that’s been dancing around in the recesses of my mental sponge/brain as of late…
(I didn’t quote the whole topic, please be proud of me!)
This is really well thought-out, and as a fellow classic cinema appreciator, I’m a big fan. I would be open to providing the support you needed to group-ify such an endeavor. There are a couple other lifestyle groups (a Runner’s group, a music group), that show a trend in that direction. A couple things come to mind:
- This group wouldn’t have the same trimmings as the more formal DC clubs. Digital perks, calendar featuring, etc.
- Recruitment for group members would be word-of-mouth or via exposure in the Iceberg Lounge.
- There is risk of conflicting with a DC-centric or promoted event for the Saturday afternoon timeslot- I see no risk of this in the near future, but just something to keep in mind.
If all of that sounds just fine…
@Applejack I know I told you about this some weeks ago, but the Ultimate MacReady figure from NECA is now hitting Target (along with two different versions of the 1933 King Kong and, best for last, Doc Brown in his 2015 duds from Back to the Future part II).
From eBay…
He’s $29.99 at Target (and stocked in the Collectibles section, which is right by Electronics) who has early exclusivity on him and the other figures I cited above. They will all be available elsewhere in the coming months, but they’re Target-only for about a month or so.
I audibly “ooooh”'d! Those are really well done, and check out the incredible accessories- NECA knows how it’s done!
Classic movies on HBO Max? Let’s dig in!
OMG… I had a “‘Classic’?! Why, that’s a modern movie! After all, it was made in…Oh” moment.
BJ Thomas also sadly passaway today, earlier I was watching Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid, I think it’s fitting to share his hit song from the movie.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=sySlY1XKlhM
Speaking of “classics”, wow. BJ Thomas’ work will always be immortal
If it makes you feel any better, I’ll let you count anything from Wild at Heart onward as something other than a classic.
Some more picture of my trip to Hawaii for you @Applejack
I have more!
SWOON! Oh my gosh… I love the ferns surrounding those orchids, just growing around town like “no big deal”. And the trunk of that twisty tree is breathtaking, thank you so much for sharing! (Trying not to be jealous of that beach shot… )
Hello Oracle,
Last night I made a shocking discovery on the community board, it first appeared in Potts poll 13, And there’s another one here in the Office Hours Vol 2, It’s a…
Hidden Mickey on DC Universe Infinite community board!
He’s on to us.
Feel free to nudge me for updates on this often and enthusiastically!
That I can sooooooooo do.
