LEGION OF SUBSTITUTE HEROES!!!
AGE SUGGESTION: 12+

Number of Issues: 1 (but it’s the length of 2)

Description from dc.fandom.com: The Legion of Substitute Heroes is a 30th Century super-hero team of rejected applicants to the Legion of Super-Heroes, who they originally deemed their super-powers as useless. They were founded by Polar Boy, Night Girl, Stone Boy, Fire Lad, and Chlorophyll Kid to prove themselves as actual heroes.

Now that that’s over with, here are some discussion questions:

  1. Some people argue that the Legion of Substitute Heroes is a commentary on the nature of heroism itself, as well as the importance of inclusivity and diversity. Do you agree or disagree with this assessment? Why?
  2. In your view, how does the Legion of Substitute Heroes compare and/or contrast to other unconventional superhero teams in the DC Comics universe, such as the Doom Patrol or the Suicide Squad?
  3. Who was your favorite member of the team? Why?
