Obscurity of DC Presents: Obscure Book Club (mini), Week 33 (October 9-October 15) --- BIBBO BIBBOWSKI!

Why hello there, @ObscurityofDCClub and other members of the DC Community! Welcome to Week 33 of Obscurity of DC’s Obscure Book Club! This week, we’ll be focusing on…

BIBBO BIBBOWSKI
AGE SUGGESTION: 12+

What We’ll be Reading: Superman: The Man of Steel — Issues 70, 71, and 72

Number of Issues: 3

Description from dc.fandom.com: “Bibbo” Bibbowski is Superman’s biggest fan. The dock-worker and former boxer was the proprietor of the Ace O’Clubs in the Hob’s Bay part of Suicide Slum.

Now that that’s over with, here are some discussion questions:

  1. Why do you think Bibbo is so interested in Superman?
  2. Why do you think a Bibbo, a former world heavyweight champion, became a bartender?
  3. Why do you think Bibbo knowingly assaulted Jimmy Olsen on live TV, when he knew the possible consequenses?

Do you have an interest in exploring the unknown? Do you like discussing comics? Do you like pineapple on pizza? If so, The Obscurity of DC Club is the club for you! Join HERE if you’re interested!

says the following in his best DCAU Bibbo voice

Dis Bibbo guy is great. He’s one of my fav’rit supporting characters in the modern/modern-ish era of Sooperman.

feels some coins in his pocket, then sees a nearby Soder machine

Ooh, Soder! Yum!

walks over to the machine, plops in a few coins and yoinks a Strawberry Soder, then cracks it open and sips as he looks out onto Hobbs Bay while watching the morning sun rise over it

Dis Soder is sooper, man.

SN: Actor Brad Garrett voiced Bibbo (and Lobo) in the DCAU. Besides his DC work, you may know him from, among other credits, Seinfeld, Finding Nemo, Everybody Loves Raymond and/or Jimmy John’s ads.

If you know of Mr. Garrett and his hearty, deep and engaging voice, then please read the above in it, and you’ll enjoy this post 52x more than you hopefully already have. :superman_hv_3:
