I could be wrong,
Twas a random thought, but I think it is just a sad fact.
In the beloved world of comics at least for DC; There are few Heroes with… drum rolls for the hair raising anticipation, Facial Hair.
An I am not counting the few times Bruce Wayne and Kal-El may have had some scruff or a temporary beard, I mean from day one to know, the only one I can think of is, Oliver Queen, who has the stash and soul patch.
Now I almost said no Villains , but I think Michael Savage has lil stash and goatee going, Sinestro has a stash, so a few villains do.
But for the most part, a majority of heavy hitter villains also do not rock facial hair and same for Heroes.
So what is up with that!?
I think Joker should sport a full stash and beard combo. Or at least a rocking stash he could twirl, while hurling jokes at Batman.

It’s a shame that there’s barely any heroes with facial hair, I do cosplay and I have a mustache so most heroes who don’t have a full face mask i would have to shave for in order to look like the character properly, my favorite facial haired DC hero is James Gordon, he may not be a super hero but he’s still a hero and he’s got one hell of a stache.
(And as far as non dc goes Zorro is definitely my favorite!)

Batwing has some over the years. I love Luke Fox clean shaven but I won’t deny he looks good with either a stubble, 5 o’clock shadow, goatee, and even a full on beard.

Aquaman, of course, sported a beard through the 90s, which he brought back in 2017.

Clark Kent also looked pretty good with a beard in 2015’s Superman: Lois & Clark.

Chief of the Doom Patrol has got a beard, and in 1991’s Doom Patrol #45 might explain why most DC characters don’t: to avoid the wrath of the Beard Hunter.
