This Week’s Theme: What’s Your Favorite DC Theme Song?
Know those memorable theme songs that stick with you long after the movie’s over? Or the special one your ears perk up for as the show starts because it immediately puts you back into the show’s universe, hyping you up for the week’s upcoming episode? Which ones stand out for you as favorites?
Share a song or two from your personal playlist in the comments below! While lyrics must abide to Forum Guidelines, the songs can be anything, of any genre, as long as it meets each week’s theme!
Curious what Mixtape Monday is?
Every week, we’ll post the title of our latest Mixtape, and you post a track of your choice in the comments below! We’ll follow up next Mixtape Monday with the full list of tunes collected from the week before. And if our “What’s the Last Song You Heard?” thread is any indication, you all have superb taste in tunes!
“What Are You Going to Do When You Are Not Saving the World?” from Man of Steel. This might be my favorite single track from Hans Zimmer. I absolutely love how it keeps building up until it completely explodes at the end. It’s just a perfect theme for Cavill’s Superman
Superman- Daughtry
Rx- Theory of a Deadman
Unforgiven- Metallica( makes me think of Darkseid)
savin Me- Nickelback
Life is Beautiful- Sixx AM ( seems like a heroic self sacrifice song)
Madness- muse
All 90s post grunge songs- Smallville
My hero- foo fighters
Fine again- Seether
when the world comes down- AAR
Ooh, we just started November, but gifts are already being given, I see - thanks for helping me add more to the list, everyone! I’m stopping in to let you know that you can also attach video of your song to your comments, too, so if interested in doing so, please do! Going to edit my post to make the adjustment now.
I mean, Danny Elfman’s Batman theme is great, and honestly the Superman themes from the Fleischer shorts and STAS are almost as good as the Williams one, but… come on.
Wait! Actually! Hang on! I want a do-over! Because somebody else is probably going to get Williams-Superman for me, I’m going more off the beaten path:
It’s completely ridiculous but also… kind of accurate?
It’s a tie between that classic Superman, Batman tas, and Batman beyond. Though I do like the Titans OP and would love to hear an extended or full version.
Awww maaaaan. As much as I’m a Bats girl, I think it’s gotta be Williams’ Superman theme. It evokes so many memories and emotions from when I tiny enough to wear a pillowcase as a cape.
In no particular order (other than #1) and staying away from songs made for DC TV shows or movies
Superman Song - Crash test dummies
Jimmy Olsen Blues - Spin Doctors
(Wish I could fly like) Superman - The Kinks
Waiting for Superman - Daughtry
Sunshine Superman - Donovan
The Ballad of Barry Allen - Jim’s Big Ego
Kryptonite - 3 Doors Down
It’s got to be Remy Zero’s iconic “Save Me,” from Smallville. To this day, I can’t hear that song without smiling and reminiscing about the CW show that really started it all.
