This Week’s Theme: The Flash

The trailer for The Flash debuted last night (in case you missed it, be sure to check it out here). If you’re like me, you’ve been looking forward to seeing Barry Allen in the lead role on the big screen for a while. This week, we’re going to create to the ultimate playlist for The Flash, so share your picks with us, below!

I’ll start things off with two of the songs that immediately come to my mind:

Due to the high volume of submissions and the limited number of hours in a day, we’ll be selecting two songs from each member, but feel free to share as many as you like!

:headphones: Curious what Mixtape Monday is? :headphones:
Every week, we’ll post the title of our latest Mixtape, and you post tracks of your choice in the comments below! We’ll follow up next Mixtape Monday with the list of tunes, two from each user, collected from the week before. And if our “What’s the Last Song You Heard?” thread is any indication, you all have superb taste in tunes!

For our hardcore music lovers, we suggest joining Inky’s Mixtape Mob , a group created to bring all music lovers together in one place. Joining Inky’s Mixtape Mob will make sure you get notified of every playlist update, as well as offer you a custom flair and title to show off your maestro-dom!

While lyrics must abide to Forum Guidelines , the songs can be anything, of any genre, as long as it meets each week’s theme!

Bonus point if you understand why this is on here. Ive thought before if there was ever a flash movie this should be in it.

Lyrics:
Story of my life

Well, high school seemed like such a blur
I didn’t have much interest in sports or school elections
And in class I dreamed all day
About a rock ‘n’ roll weekend

And the girl in the front of the room
So close yet so far, ya know she never seemed to notice
That this silly school-boy crush wasn’t just pretend

Life goes by so fast
You only want to do what you think is right
Close your eyes and then it’s past
Story of my life

Story of my life, la la la la
Story of my life
The story of my life

And I went down to my old neighborhood
The faces have all changed, there’s no one there left to talk to
And the pool hall I loved as a kid
Is now a 7-Eleven

And I went downtown to look for a job
I had no training, no experience to speak of
And I looked at the holes in my jeans
And I turned and headed back

Life goes by so fast
You only want to do what you think is right
Close your eyes and then it’s past
Story of my life

Story of my life, la la la la
Story of my life
Story of my life

And good times come and good times go
I only wish the good times would last a little longer
And I think about the good times we had
And why they had to end

So I sit at the edge of my bed
I strum my guitar and I sing an outlaw love song
Thinkin’ ‘bout what you’re doin’ now
And when you’re comin’ back

Life goes by so fast
You only want to do what you think is right
Close your eyes and then it’s past
Story of my life

Story of my life
Story of my life
Story of my life, la la la la
Story of my life
The story of my life

Both of my songs are by Del Shannon. He seems to have had a thing for songs about running

First, “Runaway”

Next, “Keep Searchin’ (We’ll Follow the Sun)”

“Moving For The Sake Of Motion”, by Underoath

(not really because of the lyrics, but the song title and it does have a consistent fast tempo)

“Check Yes Juliet”, by We The Kings

(for Barry/Iris, “run, baby, run”)

“Time”, by The Devil Wears Prada

(B-side for his time traveling shenanigans)

Highly unpopular opinion, but I legitimately prefer this cover to the original :skull:
