This Week’s Theme: Sweet Tooth!

Sweet Tooth is out now, both on Netflix and here on DCUI! In true Mixtape Monday fashion, we want to celebrate by sharing sweet tunes! What songs do you think would be on the perfect Sweet Tooth playlist? Share them with us, below!

Here is a song from one of my favorite artists to start things off:

:headphones: Curious what Mixtape Monday is? :headphones:
Every week, we’ll post the title of our latest Mixtape, and you post tracks of your choice in the comments below! We’ll follow up next Mixtape Monday with the list of tunes, two from each user, collected from the week before. And if our “What’s the Last Song You Heard?” thread is any indication, you all have superb taste in tunes!

For our hardcore music lovers, we suggest joining Inky’s Mixtape Mob , a group created to bring all music lovers together in one place. Joining Inky’s Mixtape Mob will make sure you get notified of every playlist update, as well as offer you a custom flair and title to show off your maestro-dom!

While lyrics must abide to Forum Guidelines , the songs can be anything, of any genre, as long as it meets each week’s theme!

Glen Miller’s Blue Rain

Bow Wow Wow

I Want Candy

Greetings MTM! Okay…Here’s what came to mind first. :purple_heart: Enjoy—can’t wait to see what y’all come up w/ this week! :sunglasses:

Starts with a Big Finish- Broken Social Scene

Tropicana- Ratatat

I can’t explain this next one- it just feels right and I heart it anyway, so here ya go!
Sundown- Lee Hazelwood & Nancy Sinatra

And. Sugar Sugar- Wilson Pickett

There’s really only 1 thing that comes to mind when I think of Sweet Tooth and music

Ps. @msgtv

:raised_hands: Excellent.

No particular reason, just fits to me

so what is it about Sweet Tooth? Broken Social Scene, like Blue Rain is sweet but just a touch melancholy?

@msgtv Thats what a dark adventure calls for, I think. The show is pacing it out really well so far, but there’s always that “it’s always darkest before the light” feeling to balance the gravity. I still have to finish watching. You checked it out yet?.

Have not seen it. I’m sooo far behind on my tv watching list. Which is good, but Lucifer is in front of Sweet Tooth at this point.

comic crossover time!

Pretty stumped this week, guess I’m thinking of another type of “sweet tooth”…

“Pure Imagination”, by Gene Wilder

“Gimme Chocolate”, by Postmodern Jukebox (originally by BABYMETAL)

Well hello there G.L., Mixtape Mob, and everyone else. :sunglasses:

Sweet Tooth definitely is an interesting character.

Based off what I saw in the trailer for the series, Sweet Tooth mentioned heading to Colorado.

So here are a couple of songs that make me think of Colorado. :mountain:

First up, this one.

And next… Would be this one. :musical_note:

Sweet Tooth’s post-apocalyptic vibes are heavy.
REM - It’s The End Of The World As We Know It

Throughout Sweet Tooth, many characters are tired of going from city to city.
Forecast - And We Return To Our Roots

Jepperd loved his wife Louise very much.
REM - The One I Love

Tear drop in my eye

Alright, I admit that I don’t know much about “Sweet Tooth,” but hearing everyone’s songs, I want to be a part of the fun! So, I’m going to go purely superficial, and keep my selections Candy colored. Plus, @D4RK5TARZ R.E.M inclusions inspired me. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I did not anticipate how much this week’s selections would make me crave candy, but I really should have.

Funny you should mention that because when I saw the subject for this week this was what came to my mind…

but then I watched the first two episodes and had to deal with feelings so I’ll be back with more later.

Nobody warned me this was gonna make me have feelings so consider it your warning… now on to the show.

I’ve only seen 2 episodes so here’s what I have so far.

Too coincidental with what we’ve just been thru this last year

With his mother? and his father  dang feelings

Well, they are on a Quest of sorts…

This was actually in episode 2 and I don’t know that anyone could have done it better than Patsy. Finally,

Yeah, this song has been so overplayed over the last decade or so but seems fitting here. Anyway, that’s all I got for now. I gotta finish watching it. Thanks and everyone have a good week…
