This Week’s Theme: Martian Manhunter

This week's playlist is a long overdue one for one of the founding members of the Justice League, the Martian Manhunter! What songs do you think Jon would enjoy listening to while enjoying some Choco cookies? Share your selections with us, below!

I’ll get things started with one of my favorite David Bowie songs:

Due to the high volume of submissions and the limited number of hours in a day, we’ll be selecting two songs from each member, but feel free to share as many as you like!

:headphones: Curious what Mixtape Monday is? :headphones:
Every week, we’ll post the title of our latest Mixtape, and you post tracks of your choice in the comments below! We’ll follow up next Mixtape Monday with the list of tunes, two from each user, collected from the week before. And if our “What’s the Last Song You Heard?” thread is any indication, you all have superb taste in tunes!

For our hardcore music lovers, we suggest joining Inky’s Mixtape Mob , a group created to bring all music lovers together in one place. Joining Inky’s Mixtape Mob will make sure you get notified of every playlist update, as well as offer you a custom flair and title to show off your maestro-dom!

While lyrics must abide to Forum Guidelines , the songs can be anything, of any genre, as long as it meets each week’s theme!

“I Turned Into A Martian”, by The Misfits

“Wonderfilled”, by Owl City

Rapture by Blondie:

“Go out to the parking lot
And you get in your car and drive real far
And you drive all night and then you see a light
And it comes right down and it lands on the ground
And out comes a man from Mars
And you try to run but he’s got a gun
And he shoots you dead and he eats your head
And then you’re in the man from Mars”

Rocket Man by Elton John

“Mars ain’t the kind of place to raise your kids
In fact it’s cold as hell
And there’s no one there to raise them if you did”

Happy New Year G.L. and everyone else. :sunglasses:

I think @LastSon0fMars is going to have fun checking out this Mixtape Monday. :joy:

So for the Martian Manhunter… These tunes came to mind. :superman_hv_4:

Two rockin’ songs the I’m sure J’onn J’onzz would love.

Flying Saucers Rock ‘n’ Roll - Robert Gordon

Take Me To Your Leader - Mojo Nixon

First up, “Life on Mars?” by David Bowie

Next up, the theme to the TV show My Favorite Martian

My Favorite Martian. Great show!

Life on Mars was going to be my second choice! I figured someone else had to select it sooner or later.

I suspect we’ll see a lot of David Bowie in this mixtape. He has a lot of other songs that would also suit J’onn!

I think that song is great for him.

As the police officer, the stoic moody detective in a changing political climate set in the early years of the cold war. His disconnected by it all as he’s really just a alien of a bygone planet he can’t escape to, just a Martian just struggling to survive in the inertia of America in the 50s.

I could see that for a character who is a well-known shapeshifter, I think this song is good for him as well.

I’ve been waiting for this one and have my song ready to go:

Buckethead is an alien so this is a great pick!
