**This Week's Theme: Fables** =

One of my absolute favorite series has finally arrived on DCUI-Fables! That makes it the perfect opportunity for a Fables mixtape. What do you think are the perfect songs to accompany this fairy tale series? Share your picks with us, below!

This is the first song I thought of, and I think it’s a great fit:

Due to the high volume of submissions and the limited number of hours in a day, we’ll be selecting two songs from each member, but feel free to share as many as you like!

:headphones: Curious what Mixtape Monday is? :headphones:
Every week, we’ll post the title of our latest Mixtape, and you post tracks of your choice in the comments below! We’ll follow up next Mixtape Monday with the list of tunes, two from each user, collected from the week before. And if our “What’s the Last Song You Heard?” thread is any indication, you all have superb taste in tunes!

For our hardcore music lovers, we suggest joining Inky’s Mixtape Mob , a group created to bring all music lovers together in one place. Joining Inky’s Mixtape Mob will make sure you get notified of every playlist update, as well as offer you a custom flair and title to show off your maestro-dom!

While lyrics must abide to Forum Guidelines , the songs can be anything, of any genre, as long as it meets each week’s theme!

I loved the music in these games so much. I hadn’t thought of it, but it’s a good pick.

I haven’t yet begun reading this, but I did read the premise and I definitely want to get to it. Here’s a song I think may capture the mood of the story:

Yeah, I’m probably a little too on the nose this week, hahaha.

Hopefully the same composer comes back for the upcoming reboot!

Beautiful :two_hearts: Reminds me of this song

Love me forever, or not at all
End of our tether, backs to the wall
give me your hand, don’t you ever ask why Promise me nothing, live 'til we die

Everything changes, it all stay the same
Everyone guilty, no one to blame
Every way out, brings you back to the start Everyone dies to break somebody’s heart

We are the system, we are the law
We are corruption, worm in the core
One of another, laugh 'til you cry
Faith unto death or a knife in the eye

Everything changes, it all stay the same
Everyone guilty, no one to blame
Every way out, takes you back to the start Everyone dies to break somebody’s heart

Oh, my lost love come on back to me
Love me or leave me, tell me no lies
Ask me no questions, send me no spies
You know love’s a thief, steal your heart in the night Slip through your fingers, you best hold on tight

Everything changes, it all stay the same
Everyone guilty, no one to blame
Every way out, brings you back to the start Everyone dies to break somebody’s heart Oh, my lost love come on back to me

Which I interpret as just being a song about life itself. Or more precisely, how life “works.”

I’ve been reading books of old
The legends and the myths
Achilles and his gold
Hercules and his gifts
Spiderman’s control
And Batman with his fists
And clearly I don’t see myself upon that list

But she said, “Where’d you wanna go?
How much you wanna risk?
I’m not looking for somebody
With some superhuman gifts
Some superhero
Some fairytale bliss
Just something I can turn to
Somebody I can kiss
I want something just like this”

Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo
Oh, I want something just like this
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo

Oh, I want something just like this
I want something just like this

I’ve been reading books of old
The legends and the myths
The testaments they told
The moon and its eclipse
And Superman unrolls
A suit before he lifts
But I’m not the kind of person that it fits

She said, “Where’d you wanna go?
How much you wanna risk?
I’m not looking for somebody
With some superhuman gifts
Some superhero
Some fairytale bliss
Just something I can turn to
Somebody I can miss
I want something just like this
I want something just like this”

Oh, I want something just like this
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo
Oh, I want something just like this
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo

Where’d you wanna go?
How much you wanna risk?
I’m not looking for somebody
With some superhuman gifts
Some superhero
Some fairytale bliss
Just something I can turn to
Somebody I can kiss
I want something just like this

Oh, I want something just like this
Oh, I want something just like this
Oh, I want something just like this

I really like this song, and this playlist seems like the perfect fit for it:

“This Dark and Twisty Road” - Abney Park

And of course, “The Fairytale of New York” - The Pogues featuring Kristy MacColl

(A radio cut, keeping it clean here.)
