Welcome to another exciting edition of Mixtape Monday! I want to thank you all your amazing contributions to last weekās Shazam playlist.
This Weekās Theme: Arthur Fleck
Iām thrilled to be hosting for the first time and embarking on this musical journey with all of you. Today, we delve into the enigmatic mind of Arthur Fleck, the infamous Joker. As one of my favorite variations of the Joker, Iām excited to dive into his musical tastes and hopefully explore other intriguing variations of our favorite DC characters in the future.
Letās kick things off with a few songs that come to mind when I think of Arthur Fleck:
āAc-Cent-Tchu-Ate The Positiveā, by Bing Crosby
I guess, Iām taking a more melancholy approach this week, while the songs are āuplifitingā, itās almost ironic for someone whoās constantly strugglingā¦
First up, āMake 'Em Laughā by Donald OāConnor from Singinā in the Rain.
And then āTheyāre Coming to Take Me Awayā by Napoleon IV (I doubt The Joker ever had a dog, but i hate to to think what would happen if they ran awayā¦)
Iām excited to see this continuing, and this is a great topic! My first reaction was just thinking that Arthur really didnāt strike me as the type to listen to music, since heās so troubled and miserable, but then I remembered he did at least watch music on TV when he was pretending to dance.
I can see Arthur listening to this one and definitely relating to it:
And while Iām not entirely sure this would be Arthurās type of genre, I think the lyrics fit him perfectly and could be something heād sing himself:
