Make a DCEU Reboot

Pretty god one I would say. Brad Bird is perfect for directing Superman movie.

Well, again, there was a need to hype up those characters. Outside of the Incredible Hulk, who had a popular TV series in the late 1970s and a recent solo film, and Captain America, who had always retained some degree of mainstream recognition despite the fairly weak adaptations he had received to that point, there wasn’t much affection for the characters from general audiences. Iron Man’s animated series was nowhere near as popular as Fox’s X-Men and Spider-Man cartoons. The late 1990s Avengers cartoon (featuring Hawkeye) was even more obscure and forgotten. Thor’s most notable exposure was as a running gag in Adventures in Babysitting. It was an entirely different situation than the Justice League.

Well Batman: The Animated Series and Superman: The Animated Series came before Justice League: The Animated Series, didn’t they?

Still a work in progress see last post for parts 1-5, Also If I don’t mention a Director, assume it’s the same as the Last in its respective series

  1. Justice League of America- Mathew Vaghn- Beginning where the Wonder Woman post credit left off, and almost immediately jumping forwardby several months as the JLA has been given a base of operations and recources from Wayne Corp and a mysterious donor later revealed to be Oliver Queen. We find the league saving a small country from what they think is a meteor shower, which is actually Braniac’s scouts following a ship. The ship turns out to be carrying Kara Zoe El. The story will contain elements of the “Supergirl from Krypton” story from Superman/Batman as well as “Braniac” from Action Comics. There is also a B plot with Batman looking into their government ties and the liaison, Amanda Waller. We also see a cameo from Alfred Mentioning an estrangement from Dick Grayson. It will end with the League victorious, Kara leaving for the Kent farm, Luthor winning the presidency, the league dropping government ties, and Lois Lane giving birth to Jonathan Kent. The post-credit will Feature Waller meeting with Lex Luthor.

  2. The Flash: Terminal Volocity- Andy Serkis- Opening with Grodd, breaking out Captain Cold, Heat Wave, and Mirror Master leaving the others seeing them as weak. Jumping ahead to see that both Flash and Kid Flash are premier Super Heroes in Central City. all is well when Barry gets a lead on the breakout when he responds to a gorilla rampage. It leads them to Gorilla City, now taken over by Gross and his Rogues. Loosely based on the “Brave and the Bold” arc of Justice League and "Escape from Gorilla City. the end will find the Rogues escaping when they turn on Grodd, Wally leaving for college and Barry uncovering his ability to travel through time. Reverse Flash is teased in the post-credit scene.

  3. Green Lantern: Uncharted- Inspired by the animated series, we find Kyle Reynor, Hal Jordan, Guy Gardener, Kilowog, and several other Lanterns being sent on an expedition to uncharted space to answer a distress signal. Where they uncover a secret that the guardians have kept for thousands of years, the Manhunters. Featuring appearances from the Omega Men, Adam Strange, Lobo, and the Thanagarians. The post Credit will introduce Sinestro on quard as he receives a yellow ring.

  4. Wonder Woman: Pride of the Amazons- the Story finds Diana returning to Themiscara with a friend and scholor Barbara Minerva. Soon, the Amazons find themselves on the Brink of war with the forces of an ancient sorceress named Circe. The story also introduces Donna Troy and Cheetah with appearances by Artamis, and Giganta. The end will find Donna returning to man’s world with Diana, and a post credit will reveal cheetah meeting with Ra’s Al Ghul.

Batman: The Animated Series is actually an interesting case, since it was essentially a spin-off of Tim Burton’s films (albeit in a separate continuity). The show felt no need to recap Batman’s origin because the film had already done so.

I think there’s a decent argument for making the Wonder Woman movie before Justice League, since her origin hadn’t been seen in live action since the 1970s. Perhaps Aquaman and Cyborg were the most in need of solo films if they were to be part of the film’s line-up. But Superman didn’t need Man of Steel, considering that Smallville had just ended two years prior to its release. Batman didn’t need a solo film after the Dark Knight trilogy. The Flash didn’t need one because he has had a popular TV show since 2014.

@lmhoyt95.63148, Why “Aquaman” in Phase 2 after JL? Not a fan of Killing Joker, or Hal

@84mdcb.20696, no Batman movie?

@Nobody.bladesmith, is that for animated movies? We’re talking about rebooting the live-action shared universe DC movies.

Sean-Malloy; I kind of wanted to bury the lead a bit, everyone knows Batman so a little bit can go a long way. Plus I’m not done just yet.

See previous posts for 1-9.

  1. Superman: Public Enemy- David Leitch- “Public Enimies” adaptation, with a little of the Young Justice episodes “Independence Day” and “Fireworks” thrown in. Opening with Lois and Clark celebrating Jonathans 4th Birthday, the festivities are interrupted when President Luthoradresses the nation and accuses Superman of bringing a Kryptonite comet to Earth, When Superman confronts Luthor, Lex frames him for the murder of luthors bodyguard, John Corbin. Superman and Batman go on the run to clear Clark’s Name as Villains come after them to collect a massive bounty. Meanwhile Tim Drake recruits Nightwing and Lois Lane to uncover a secret Luthor project called Cadmus. Things get complicated when Luthor enlists Heroes. With appearances by Green Lantern, Captain Atom, Starfire, Black Lightning and as many villains as possable. We also are teased of a chemical test gone awrong in a city called Dakota. The end See’s Bats and Supes going against a crazed Luthor and Metallo, as Captain Atom sacrifices himself to stop the comet. Tim dons the Robin suit, joining Nightwing to Superman’s clone, Kon El, from Cadmus. Lex is taken to Prison and Metallo is seemingly destroyed. The post-credit sees Metallo salvaged by Talia Al Ghul.

  2. Static- Jordan Peele- Adapting the comic of the Same name, we find Virgil Hawkins growing up in Dakota as an average teen. Until, one day he is exposed to a chemical compound by the government after getting caught up in a gang war, an event later referred to as “the Big Bang”. The Government then tries to Hunt down the “Bang Babies” for study. Virgil takes the Static Identity to take the fight to them. We see appearances by Hotstreak, Tarmac, and Holocaust. And cameos from Hardware and the Blood Syndicate. The end finds the Government test exposed, and Static Established as a Hero. The post-credit starts as Virgil gets home from a night on patrol to find Robin in his home. Robin Refers to Static by his real name and says he has an invitation for him.

  3. Justice League: Divided We Fall- Beginning with the league members living their respective lives they are all caught off guard when they are simultaneously attacked in oddly specific ways by their enimies, leaving them incapacitated. Only Batman can figure what’s going on, because it’s his plans. Adapting “Tower of Babel” and “Batman and Son” we find Ra’s Al Ghul teaming up with Cheetah, Metallo, Tattoo Man, Prometheus, and Solomon Grundy. As well as an army of Ninja Man-Bats. We also see the Justice League get reinforcements from Black Canary Green Arrow, Black lightning, Katana, Vixen, Huntress, and the Question. We are also introduced to Oracle, and Damien Wayne as well. The post-credit will introduce a Mother Box.

  1. Suicide Squad- Eli Roth- in the aftermath of Justice League: divided we fall Amanda Waller, and the US government, send a Black ops team to Markovia in search of what they think is a weapon powerful enough to kill Superman. The team loses several members before, coming to blows with a second team that was sent by Waller. What’s left of the two teams are ordered to work together. Things get really hairy when they find out that “weapon” is in fact an imprisoned Jason Blood who transforms into Entrigan and thins out their numbers even more. What’s left of the team narrowly escapes, thinking they failed. It ends with the reveal that one of the teammates they thought was dead was on a side mission to get a red strain of Kryptonite. Quite a few villains are introduced, and a large number is killed off as well. this will mostly be the grindhouse movie of the DC universe. The post-credit scene will see the remainder of the team being tasked with an easier mission; assassinating the King of Atlantis.

  2. Batman: Noel-Ana Lily Amirpour- Adaptation of the Comic; Christmas Carol with Batman, Introduces, Jim Gordon, Joker, Catwoman, Jason Todd in a Flashback, and mentions Barbara Gordon. The post Credit will See Dick answering the door to his apartment to find Tim Drake revealing he knows Bruces Identity.

  3. Aquaman- Ava Duvernay- Atlantis is prosperous under the rule of Arthur Curry, however the kingdom is divided as some believe there should be a full blooded Atlantis on the throne. With many also believing Atlantis should be at war with the surface world. Arthur does his best to maintain peace even while defending against an assassination attempt by The Suicide Squad, that peace is destroyed however upon the arrival of the Trench. Although Arthur does find a way to beat the trench, Arthur’s brother uses both attacks as a means to overthrow his brother and assume power. The end find Arthur exiled back to the surface. Film introduces Aquaman, Mira, Kaldur’ahm, and Ocean Master. The post-credit will tease Black Manta.

Don’t Reboot The DCEU And The MCU

@movielover1994, why would we be touching Marvel here?

@84mdcb.20696, Why change Aquaman like that?

I think the DCEU is about to be rebooted anyway. Although it isn’t official, I think flashpoint is going to do a soft reboot. after flashpoint they might get rid of Batflack and replace him with Robert Pattinson, so that the Batman movie becomes apart of the main continuity.

I honestly couldn’t tell you directors, writers, producers, or cast. But I could give a timeline.

Phase 1:
Wonder Woman - sort of like a combo between the 2009 animated film and 2017 movie. Axe Steve Trevor to use him for something later, but pretty much Amazons have Ares imprisoned on Themyscira, one of their own betrays them and frees him, Ares goes and starts WW2, Diana sneaks away to go stop him since Hippolyta won’t allow anyone to venture into man’s world after him, she follows the trail of destruction and chaos through major battles of WW2, fails to stop Ares from opening a door to the underworld and getting his bands removed, Ares sets on motion Hiroshima where Wonder Woman defeats him on the lawn of the White House with the help of fellow Amazons, and finally fails to stop the nuke and heads back home disappointed thinking maybe her mother was right about man’s world. End credits is a series of news, major things to happen in the world since WW has been gone with the final 2 things being a meteor shower striking Smallville and the Wayne’s murder.
Batman - just off the cusp of rumors that a bat man has been terrorizing Gotham’s criminals and has just taken down the Maroni crime family LT. Gordon and new DA Harvey Dent deny the existence of Batman. From there we pretty much get Long Halloween meets Arkham Origins. Rather than the whole thing taking place over the course of a year it takes place over the holiday season (October-December). After Batman and Catwoman are caught breaking into Carmine Falcone’s office he puts a bounty on their heads attracting several enemies of Batman we know today to get rid of them: Joker masquerading as Black Mask, Scarecrow, Penguin, etc. who attempt to assassinate them while looking for the killer known as “Holiday”. By the end, GCPD and Batman are cool, Gordon is Commish, and they shine the Bat Signal for the first time. The movie ends with Harvey Dent getting disfigured and Alfred handing Bruce tickets to Haly’s Circus to help get his mind off of Harvey. End credits scene is Court of Owls related.
Superman - this one is a bit fuzzy for me cuz idk much about Supes early career but, I liked how the recent Man of Tomorrow used it to introduce Martian Manhunter under the guise off thinking he might be Martian.
Flash - idk anything about his early career at all or what you could even do with him besides timeline changes.
Green Lantern - again Ik nothing.
Aquaman - the 2018 was a great start. Just take out the connection to the other DCEU films and maybe add some Throne to Atlantis in there without JL and I think it would be perfect!
Justice League - think JL War meets WW Bloodlines. Parademons attack Steve Trevors fleet, he crashes on Themyscira, Wonder Woman saves him, because of the demons Hippolyta decides to hold a tournament to see who gets to escort him home to tell his people, Diana defies her and wins the tournament, upon arriving WW and Trevor tell the US government about Parademons, and they sorta come together and JL War plays out but instead of Darkseid, Stepenwolf and the Furies come and the JL kills Stepenwolf and send the Furies back to where they cane from (for later) only to hear they are just the messengers and someone more powerful is coming for them.

For phase 2 Ik I would introduce all the first sidekicks (Robin, Batgirl, Kid Flash, Aqualad, Donna Troy, and Speedy) and the rest of the JL being Green Arrow and Black Canary. And that the Batman arc would continue to tease Court of Owls and end with JL Dark but that’s it.
Phase 3 would be the end of the first sidekicks and start of the next wave. The phase would end with Titans. We’d get a Superman: Brainiac/Unbound type story where Kara and her family were bottled with Candor. She hops on his back on the way out and they both take out Brainiac together but Candor is destroyed. We’d start with Court/Night of Owls movie and right before Titans get Killing Joke to mark Barbara’s turn to Oracle and to give Dick a reason to quit, move to college, and start Titans.
Haven’t really thought past that…

My bad, I’m coming up with these on the fly. I guess my reasoning was I wanted to establish Arthur as a good ruler, to contrast what Atlantis would look like under orm’s rule in a sequel, showcase the trench as a real threat instead of side characters, and establish a relationship between the brothers so that their conflict feels more personal. Plus I wanted a logical reason for him to go to the surface to join the league.

Very cool to have a Batman set during Christmas. Does Batman returns is a staple in my household during that time, I would definitely welcome another one.

SAMEEEEEEEE! Arkham Origins is honestly my favorite Batman game and I feel like it’s perfect to combo Long Halloween. I love the vibe and the story (while they lied and said Joker wasn’t in it) was really good - the best out of all of them if you ask me. The only things I woulda done differently with that game would be a bigger city, and the Batmobile.

1-15 are in previous posts, I know they’re not all golden, but I’m having a little bit of fun.

  1. Green Lantern: Sinestro- still Guillermo del Toro- Adaptation of “Sinestro Corps War” but taking place entirely off-world. We are introduced to the yellow lanterns, and there will be appearances by Adam strange, and Martian Manhunter. A portion will be on the planet Mogo, where we are introduced to saint Walker. By the end; saint Walker will be revealed to be a blue lantern, and bring his corps to aid the Green Lanterns, and John Stewart returning to Earth with Martian Manhunter. The post-credit scene will find the two arriving at Earth only to be met by an army of parademons

  2. Batman versus Superman- in the aftermath of Justice league divided, Bruce and Clark are on uneasy speaking terms. That is slowly thrown out the window when Clark is infected by red kryptonite by Waller working with Luthor, allowing him to give into his feelings of paranoia and hate, and lashing out at and both the government, and Batman. In real time. Superman will come to blows and win against a new iteration of The suicide squad, and Flash. We will also introduce the Titans; Nightwing, Starfire, Cyborg, Beast Boy, and Kid Flash. The end fight will find Superman meeting Batman in the batcave, but it is revealed that Bruce equipped high-powered red sun lamps throughout the two come to blows, and Bruce overpowers the kryptonite by showing clark images of Lois, Jonathan, and everyone clark cares about. In the end Bruce and Clark go there separate ways as it is revealed that Bruce’s plan was one of several he has for Clark. The post credit Will introduce Darkseid looking through Cyborgs eyes observing the events simply stating “it’s time”.

  3. Wonder Woman: God’s and Monsters- Wonder woman, and Donna Troy are once again called to arms as it is revealed that the Greek Pantheon has been killed. We are introduced to Granny goodness, steppenwolf, and the furies led by Big Barda. The end finds Hippolyta dead and Diana taking leadership of the Amazons, and Granny and Steppenwolf’s forces withdrawing on the arrival of Orion, Mr Miracle, and an army of new gods.

  4. Young Justice- McG- Tim Drake returns from training abroad to be inducted into the Titans with Static and Superboy. It is business as usual until the Titans are attacked by Deathstroke, Red Hood, and several members of The league of assassins. The end will find Tim learning of the Red Hood’s origins, and the three deciding to forge their own path. To post credit will find Robin and Superboy setting up and Happy Harbor when out of nowhere a Time bubble appears. Impulse steps out and to Robin says “Am I too late? Wait, you’re not the douchey one are you.”

Batman Returns (1992) and Arkham Origins (2013) show great examples of why Batman and Christmas go together like peanut butter and jelly.
