Q1: Issue 228: What did you like about the use of the special Legion Espionage Squad this time around?

Q2: Issue 229: Which Earth of the future location was more entertaining to read about, Australia last issue or Smallville this issue? Why?

Q3: Issue 230: How good of a job did Levitz do utilizing the powers of the team that was selected this time around ?

Q4: Issue 231 is perhaps the best written in best drawn comic of this run this week. Which is your favorite fighting scene against the Fatal Five and why?

Next week we take just a short time jump to more of the Levitz / Giffen “golden standard for Legion” goodness!!

Here’s my first answer from the discord. I’ll plug through these today, if I don’t get too distracted by The Outer Worlds.

Seeing them infiltrate an Earth city for the President gave the story an true espionage feel. Part of me kind of wishes there is no Dark Circle stuff and we could have had a story about more grey area political power plays, but comics really couldn’t tell those kind of stories at that time.

That said, one thing I noticed: how was Shady able to usr that much makeup to conceal her natural color? I’m no expert on the field, but I feel Like it would take several of those to make that work.

I’d say Australia, because like they imply in this issue, Smallville in the future had already been seen all the way back in the Legion’s first appearance. Seeing what other continents are like in this future is definitely more interesting.

Also, I have to say that while it was nice to see Smallville again this issue, I do find it odd that a genocidal dictator of Australia’s secret base would be… in the middle of mid-west America. Like, how did that happen?

Very good – it’s almost as if it was the exact team necessary to both get the crystal and to quickly realize that all was not as it seems. Man, I’m sure…whatever his name was wished he found more gullible Legionnaires.

Really, the main story was just okay – short, sweet, gets the job done, nothing to really write home about. I did like the Bouncing Boy story, though.

Definitely agreed on the best written and best drawn of the books. Favorite fight I think I would go with the fight on the ground with Validus and Persuader, the spreads the art team did with that were just spectacular.

Agreed! This earlier Levitz work is getting more and more entertaining to read.
