The CW has released an official trailer for the upcoming fourth and final season of its DC television series Black Lightning – and as far as main protagonist Jefferson Pierce is concerned, his superhero alter-ego is a thing of the past.
The trailer opens on Jefferson mourning at a grave, presumably that of his close friend Detective Bill Henderson, who perished in Black Lightning’s Season 3 finale.
"No matter how hard I try to protect my family, it will always end in tragedy.
I can no longer be the man I was," Jefferson says.
“Black Lightning was trying to save the world, I’m just trying to save my family,” he continues, ultimately declaring, “Black Lightning’s dead.”
