St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner (a holiday I see as less celebrating St Patrick driving out pagans and more celebrating the culture and resiliency of the Irish). So, let’s collect some Irish and Irish American DC characters! I’m Irish American myself (if Fitzpatrick didn’t tip y’all off), and my dad and I have been trying to get more in touch with our roots lately.
After a bit of research, a pretty significant proportion of Irish character are
Somewhat stereotypical
Not DC but April O’Neil is Irish.
Pat and Sean Noonan
Not DC either, but you can count the Cassidys at Marvel (Banshee and Siryn)
Moon O’Day may have been a stereotypical Irish leprechaun character, but he was also quite fun:
(Don’t you wish we still lived in a time when a headline like this would shake the country?)
The leprechaun typewriter story was hilarious:
Whatever was typed on it came true. Of course, criminals stole it, leading to mayhem.
It was an iconic story arc with panels like this:
Jack O’Lantern is from Ireland
Kit Ryan:
Every character with red hair
Tell that to Barbara Gordon
What about Jim Gordon? He is also a red head.
What about Duccard/Ra’s from the Nolanverse? Does he count? LOL
I have no clue what she claims to be but I know she must be Irish even if she doesn’t admit or know it.
The character has to be Irish, not the actor.
