DC is teaming up with Japanese publisher Kodansha to release translated editions of Joker: One Operation Joker, Superman vs. Meshi, and Batman: Justice Buster — all of which will debut the platform’s new manga reader feature! This content has been made available to all DCUI subscribers, regardless of subscription tier, and will update with new chapters weekly.
Not familiar with how it works? Don’t fret!
When visiting any of the titles mentioned above, you'll be prompted with an instructional window for how to best consume manga content here on the platform; unless you're already a manga-reading pro, in which case you can dismiss it and dive on in!
Oh this rules. Very excited about this! Can’t wait to check out One Operation Joker, the comic where Batman becomes a baby and Joker raises him. This pitch is a fever dream.
If thou should seeketh more manga for thine reading consumption, I knoweth a fellow who can maketh recommendations to thou.
“Moving on.”
Cesar Romero’s Joker summed-up my thoughts on Superman vs. Meshi Chapter One:
“How perfectly delicious!”
It was light and fun and had a soupcon of whimsy and humor as well.
Then there’s the food. Great Rao, the food.
I can’t remember the last time I developed such a hunger while reading a comic, but Krypton alive, I could definitely go for some yakatori.
SN: I liked the DC Nation Spotlight on Hawkgirl.
It was already one of my most-anticipated Dawn titles and that wee, teeny-tiny look has amplified my anticipation even more.
SN 2: Be it deliberate or by complete coincidence, a Superman manga making its DCUI debut during the initial episodes of My Adventures of Superman and its anime shine is pretty sweet.
When reading the Joker Manga comic, the Joker look like a mix design of Heath Ledger with Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker.
I don’t want to spoil the story, it was very interesting, and it was interesting to turn the pages backwards instead of forward!
I’ve been aware of this since before it was published in Japan, and new the translations were forthcoming from a few months or so back, so great to see that it’s finally done and looking forward to these!
