Here’s a highlight reel of Superman’s earliest adventures from 1938 to 1940:

  1. Superman #1
    Superman’s first four stories from Action Comics, all in one volume!

  2. Action Comics #8-9
    Superman becomes a fugitive after taking a novel approach to teen delinquency.

  3. Action Comics #13, 14, 17, 19, 20, & 21
    Superman faces his first supervillain, Ultra-Humanite, in a multi-part saga!

  4. Action Comics #22-23 & Superman #4
    The debut of Superman’s greatest nemesis, Luthor!

@SRTLOWE I second @TheDarkKnieves recommendation of For All Seasons. I especially like the issue that focuses on his relationship with Pa Kent. It would be great Father’s Day gift and makes me emotional thinking of my own dad. Shows the human in Superman
