Important Announcement About Fan Art & Fan Fiction

Greetings, Citizens of DC Universe,

It is with a heavy heart we must inform you we will be removing all fan fiction and artwork that comes into conflict with our FanArt Guidelines from this forum as of Monday, June 25th. Our humble community is growing every day, and with that comes the need to adapt and change to ensure fair practices across the board. And as our forums have grown, so too have the challenges in being able to stay true to the guidelines that have been put in place. This difficult decision has been made in order to maintain these fair practices of our FanArt Guidelines.

If you have posted fan fiction, or a link to fan fiction on our forums, here is what you can expect:

  • Beginning June 25th, 2020, moderators will be reviewing threads and removing fan fiction and/or hyperlinks to fan fiction on third party sites.

  • Moderators will contact you directly in advance of the removal to ensure you have time to archive your work.

  • If you wish to archive your work off-platform, please do so before June 25th, 2020.

  • Moving forward, we will be regularly moderating any fan fiction or links to fan fiction from the forums. You will be notified if your post is flagged and provided a limited time in which you can archive your work, off-platform.

  • We will continue to allow fan art that follows the FanArt and Community Guidelines. This includes:

    • Not creating any new characters, costume designs, or logos
    • Not creating new storylines
    • No personally identifiable information (e.g., name, address, email address, phone number, etc.).

You may review the full list of our FanArt Guidelines here, and our Community Guidelines here.
