I can’t get over Titans Bruce Wayne. There is no way he fits in the Batsuit or takes on the League of Assassins. Seriously DC what on earth? If you wanted to give us a throw back to Adam West you nailed it.
I agree that he evokes Adam West. I disagree that it’s a bad thing. For one, he’s not playing it with a raised eyebrow. For two, a part of me wants to believe that this is the Dozierverse and Burt Ward took a really dark turn after Legends of the Superheroes.
He’s been in two episodes with less than five minutes screen time in each turn. That’s enough to pass judgment? Also, this is THIS universe’s version of Bruce. If we can get behind some of the changes for the other characters on the show, why not Bruce?
I’m not saying we should automatically love Iain Glen’s take on the character but do we automatically have to come out with the torches and pitchforks, too?
I got no beef with him. Take a look at him in Game of Thrones, dude was a big bad ass beef cake. Getting older and slower yes, but I think that’s what Titans is showing, Batman is just a man dudes get old loose muscle mass, what you gonna do?
ive minutes is enough to decide if you liked those five minutes.
He was great in Game of Thrones and he’s “okay” here. I just wish he could pull off an American accent better. It kills my suspension of disbelief when his own accent breaks through. I’ve enjoyed everything else this season so far except this.
Actually, whether Ian Glen intends it or not, I’ve liked the seeming little lifts from Adam West’s performance, played in all seriousness.
I love the bit of Adam West to him. Not sure how Dick and Jason turned out how they are, though. They act like Bats is borderline evil, but he really seems like he just wants a hug.
And I’ve seen others post it, but Bruce was raised by a formal British butler. Chances are he’s gonna have a bit of a British accent.
I don’t buy that, Tornado. It’s never been true in any other iteration and he grew up in Gotham.
I haven’t heard his english accent yet
I’m always in the mood for more West, less Bale.
I’d be down for a heavy pinch of Keaton and a dab of Affleck.
I don’t see him having a little bit of West in his portrayal as a bad thing.
