How many times will they kill Superman? I mean, it was shocking the first time it happened in the comics, and it was interesting to see a version of it brought to the screen, but now it seems like they just don’t know what to do with him at all. Like they don’t know how to write for him. He’s either so indestructible that no villain is even a challenge - he could have wiped out Steppenwolf without the help of the JL in no time, the whole movie was just stalling until he showed up - OR “Let’s kill him again! And then we can just bring him back to life and kill him again later.”

It has only happened once, but that doesn’t stop the powers that be from doing reenactments. Its just like how they do passion plays every year. Why don’t people get tired of that?

Superman vs. Doomsday is one thing, and it’s been told a few times, but then there’s Superman Returns where they want you to believe he’s dead/dying. Then there’s Batman v. Superman - kill him off again. Bring him back in JL, then “Let’s do Death of Superman again!” It just seems like they can’t come up with anything new. I don’t think they killed George Reeves’ Superman or Christopher Reeve’s Superman one time, but their stories were plenty compelling!
