Harley's Crew Book Club, Weeks 5 & 6: Suicide Squad (Books 9 -12)

I’m having a lot of fun reading these books and I’m REALLY looking forward to reading the next 4.

From 09/14 to 09/20 we’ll read issues 9 to 12 and we’ll discuss them from 09/21 to 09/27.
Here’s the link to the books:

I can’t wait to read what you all think!!!

To join Harley’s Crew go here:

Since it looks like issue #9 of this series leads into a crossover with the title Resurrection Man, I thought I’d post a link to it:

It’s funny we have this book come up, since this book also apparently features the characters “Body Doubles” that also showed up in the '00 Harley Quinn series.

Thanks for the link as i missed the tie-in as I don’t like paying for single issues of an ongoing series since you don’t know that world unless you are reading that series.

Even though future runs of Suicide Squad are SOOO much better I’m still having a lot of fun reading this.

I’ll type a bit more this evening but I really can’t wait to see what you all think!

Some pretty decent stuff this week – I also read the related Resurrection Man issues and that was a character that I literally never read before but now I definitely plan on going through this New 52 series and maybe even the previous 90s series. The nice thing about these small characters with books that ended quickly is that they’re really easy to commit to completing.

Anyway, not a LOT of Harley stuff here, and honestly I’m not entirely sure what is going on with it. Like, she’s snapped back to sanity, I guess? But “Harley” is still a voice in her head? I dunno, Rob Williams/Jim Lee did it better during the Rebirth run of SS.

The four issues were mostly focused on Deadshot and his adventures. I liked him as a character, especially his encounters with Ressurection Man and the Body Doubles (showing up way more often on Harley’s Crew than I ever expected!). However, I found the group of Basilisk and their plot to be kind of dull.

Favorite moment:

This story started out a lot of fun!

I like that native dude warming up to Harley and appreciate these types of interactions:

This was a bit on the “Cheesecake” side tho…

But Boomerang was almost as big a surprise as this was:

Deadshot is COLD!

And I can’t wait to see where the story goes with this:

I’m REALLY enjoying this story! I’ve been wanting to read these books for a while now and I appreciate the reason to finally do it!

This definitely ain’t the Harley and King Shark from the show, I am enjoying it though, let’s see where it goes.

I’m almost caught up!! I’ll be back. :sunglasses:
