I mean, I have a loose rule where I try and only purchase comics which have either people of colour, lgbtq+ folk, or women in the main character role. (it’s not like an, I will actively deprive myself if I really want a comic thing, and more of a ‘if I’m looking for more to read, I will look there first’ thing- I’m buying/reading Nightwing and did so with Man-Bat.)
I justified the latest detective comics with Huntress. I just. I love her and I miss her and I was desperate for new content.
I bought the latest Batman because of well. harley reasons. ivy reasons.
it’s just annoying because if I want to see my favourite characters, I have to buy batman comics, but if I buy batman comics, DC won’t understand I’m purchasing them for the batgirls or Huntress or Ivy or even Harley (who luckily has her own titles)- they’ll just think more people want more batman and then we’ll get more batman whilst my faves continue to get sidelined or ignored.

Any plans to check out Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, then? #1 is out this week.
Isn’t Nightwing just great? I can’t remember the last time I enjoyed his solo adventures so much. The scenes with him and Babs are touching and sweet.
How is Man-Bat? The art looks interesting.
Agreed, and I’ve done that too. The most recent example being the current Suicide Squad series, where I’m buying it to see Superboy in action again. The rest of the series is fine, but I really just want new adventures of Conner again, and if it’s with the Suicide Squad, then that’s how this Superman fan will roll.

I’m not a fan of Tom King, so I’ll likely give it a miss, which stings because I do love Kara.
I adored man-bat. Lovely tale which discusses consequence and trying to do better. I have a big soft spot for Kirk as it is, so it was a given that I’d buy it.
And YES! Nightwing is phenomenal. It’s also nice to see a Babs which is recognizable as the Oracle I grew up reading about and loving. And the expressiveness of the art? The colours? The inclusion of the bat family as a family without overpowering or reducing Dick’s identity as an individual? I’m so happy.
I feel that too. I love Connor but haven’t bought that one yet. YJ 98 was also something I grew up reading, as was Cass’ batgirl series.

I shop & read the exact same way. I’m a BIG believer in voting w/ our wallets. Annoying that readers aren’t given a choice sometimes when we want what we want (which is often not Batman) but have to buy Batman comics just see the characters we like—agree.

Batman’s allowed to have sex with his best friend’s daughter, but not go down on Catwoman. And both instances are from animated projects specifically meant for adults. MAKE IT MAKE SENSE

I do hope we will see Harley and Ivy being intimate in Season 3. Nothing explicit of course, but tasteful and sexy. (I didn’t like Psycho’s sex tape leak, for the record, that’s private.)
