Happy Birthday to the guy who:
- Wrote and/or drew many fantastic works for DC.
- Designed the opening title sequence for Batman Beyond.
- Had his work turned into many a schway toy and/or collectible.
- Was lucky to be born with “DC” as his initials.

Darwyn Cooke was not just one of the best artists in DC Comics history, but he was also one of the best writers in DC Comics history.

I think New Frontier could easily be adapted in part for a great origin (perhaps as an animated episode for an anthology Secret Origin) story for J’onn and, as well, for say an episode focusing on Hal, both are that strong in this limited series. And I agree, I heartily recommend it - my only criticism, which I’ve voice elseworld, was in the Centre’s design (in part) and conceptualization, and it’s overall use as the Big Bad.
@Vroom Agreed, one of my proudest possession is the DC Collectibles Comics Designer Series with Supergirl, and Streaky and Krypto, which I am glad I was able to get before it became ‘out of print’ with those scalper price markups.
@KookieSuperApe Solo itself is a great collection, but yes, Darwyn’s one shot within was particularly superior.
