I was thinking about how certain DC superheroes have day jobs but others don’t and decided to create this thread. I’ll post a job a DC character has with a poll to evaluate whether it is a practical job for a full-time superhero. I’ll edit the job onto the list below. I’m open to suggestions as well.
I think having to save lives, and get pictures or write before deadlines come would be really stressful. I think the best job for a superhero would be something that has nothing to do with superheroes.
Black Canary working her flower shop is never gonna effect her superhero time and vice versa.
Morality questions like that are always going to come up matter what your profession is.
Spider-Man dealt with a similar scenario that ended up costing him his uncle for not intervening and he learned that great power comes with great responsibility which is what every superhero should remember.
I know a guy who used to test drive for John Deere. He said the hours were really weird. Some weeks everything is still getting worked on so you got nothing, next week, there are 13 different things that need to be tested. It could work for a part-time superhero during those off weeks but for a full-time GL, I don’t see the guardians responding well to, “yeah I didn’t save that planet but I had to test fly a plane or a bunch of people would be out of work for a week.”
Check it again it’s 60/40 now. Reporter was originally chosen because that person would hear about emergencies before the general public. Clark became a TV reporter in the ‘70sand used super speed to catch criminals while presenting the 6:00 news. That only works for people with powerful superpowers.
Test pilot is just badass cool. I agree that the hours would be weird because the testing would need to be done at all different times and conditions. It’s snowing, we need to test right now so you can’t go help that planet right now.
