She died in season 3 by being impaled accidentally with a sword during a fight with an infected Jim Gordon who was struggling with the Tetch virus at the time.

Mad Hatter is by far my favorite. His episodes in season 3 were my favorite in the series. Especially s3 ep6 and 7. I was at the Gotham panel and they said that he will be there for season 5 so I’m excited
