I’m throwing down the gauntlet: you can’t make a reasoned argument in favor of being a Batman fan if you liked any aspect of Clooney’s completely disrespectful, homophobic, and mocking portrayal of the character.
No other person to play the character has ever intentionally chosen to treat him like a joke the way that Clooney did, and it’s a black mark on the resume of Joel Schumacher and Warner Bros. that he was allowed to.
It’s also a black mark against Schumacher that he let Clooney and Chris O’Donnell be so openly homophobic in-character given his own documented sexual orientation.
