Granny wasn’t technically brainwashed. She was taken from her parents and forced to work for Darkseid. After being promoted brainwashing was actually one of her jobs.

The Penguin stole Superman’s power by using red Kryptonite!
And the answer is fiction, Penguin was never near the red Kryptonite as far as I know, I’ve made that up, In Super Friends he took Superman’s power by Felix Faust.
