Two pop culture forces collide in Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point , a six-issue series written by Christos Gage and illustrated by Reilly Brown, with concept and story consultation from chief creative officer of Epic Games, Donald Mustard.

The series starts next Tuesday, April 20, and continues with twice-monthly installments in May and June—issue #2 on May 4, #3 on May 18, #4 on June 1, and #5 on June 15—before concluding July 6 with Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point #6. Each issue has a main cover by the amazing Mikel Janín; a variant cover from superstar artists including Jim Lee, Amanda Conner, Art Adams, and Dan Mora; and a premium variant cover illustrated by Donald Mustard.

Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point will launch day-and-date in comic book shops and on DC UNIVERSE INFINITE, and will be available at release in North America, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Brazil, Spain, and the Czech Republic, with plans to release the full series in Japan, Korea, and France later this fall.

That’s not all. Each print issue of Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point will include a redeemable code for bonus DC-themed Fortnite digital items inspired by the events in the comic, starting with the new Rebirth Harley Quinn Outfit! Digital issues of Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point downloaded from DC UNIVERSE INFINITE (U.S. only) will also include these bonus digital codes. As a bonus item, fans who redeem all six codes will unlock a new Armored Batman Zero Outfit.

But while you know Batman (if you’re reading this, we’re presuming that’s a safe bet) you may not yet know Fortnite. We’ve got you covered—along with all the details on how to redeem your DC-themed Fortnite digital items thanks to a FAQ from our friends at Fortnite.

Fortnite is a Pretty Big Deal

Fortnite is a completely free cross-platform game where players fight to be the last one standing in Battle Royale, join forces to make their own Creative games, or catch a live show with their friends at Party Royale. With more than 350 million accounts globally and an enthusiastic fanbase, players can jump into the action on PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, Android, PC and Mac.

But What’s Batman Doing Here?

He’s trying to figure that out himself. As Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point #1 starts, a mysterious crack appears in the Gotham City sky, threatening reality itself. Batman—along with some other familiar DC faces—is pulled into it, with the Dark Knight waking up in the unfamiliar world of Fortnite with no memory and no choice other than to fight his way out.

Who’s the Fish Guy?

That’s Fishstick, one of the many visually distinctive and fan-favorite Fortnite characters to appear in Batman/ Fortnite: Zero Point .

This Isn’t the First DC/Fortnite Collaboration

While Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point is the first comic book collaboration between DC and Fortnite, there’s a history here, as the game has previously offered players in-game outfits of DC characters including Batman, Aquaman, Catwoman, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, the Joker and more.

My question is, is Fortnite even still popular?

Extremely. It’s not at the 78 million players per day it had at its peak in 2018, but it still gets about 25 million.

I don’t think I even had a (then) current gen console until late 2018. I totally missed the Fortnite thing when it came out and when I tried it I didn’t understand it. It’s not very self-explanatory or I’m too old to grasp it.

I think I’m aging out of the gaming market; the only things that catch my interest are Souls, fighting games and remasters or sequels of old games (and even then- Breath of the Wild and FF7R didn’t do anything for me). It’s even harder to catch up in than comics.

If you’re a Batman fan, you still may want to check out the crossover when it debuts here on DC UNIVERSE INFINITE next week. From Batman’s POV, nothing about it makes sense either, and they explain elements of the game in clever ways.

Plus, you know want to see Batman fight Snake Eyes!

Honestly I used to be a Batman fan but more and more I think he’s just kind of a curmudgeonly a-hole and prefer the the more optimistic heroes. I didn’t like Snyder or King’s take on the character.

And I don’t know who Snake Eyes is.

Sounds awesome™:+1:. Helpful instructions.

What if you are still on the free trial when it comes out? Will you get the code?

This is what I want to know. I meant to sign up earlier but I’ve been sick and I just learned that free trial periods can’t get the code. So can I just wait three days or am I screwed? I saw one article mention skipping the free trial which I would have been fine with if I saw it first. Any help?

Welcome to the community @Ghostdog1521 and @EagleScoutMeyers!

I also have a question. Will I be able to redeem the code for more then one account? My sister and I share a DC account and we both have a Fortnite account, so I was wondering if we would both be able to get the outfits?

@EagleScoutMeyers and @Ghostdog1521 - Welcome to the community! Codes are not given out during the free trial period.

@Detective7 - The codes can only be redeemed to one account. Sorry!

That’s alright. We decided to just split up the codes. Will we know what the codes are going to be redeemed for before we redeem them?

We’re not privy to that information yet either at this time, so I don’t want to answer you and be wrong. I guess we will all have to find out together as things unfold. :orange_heart:

Do you think they give me the code when I start paying for the subscription?

This feels misleading. Here’s why…

When this crossover was first mentioned the impression given was that if a person wanted to access to the codes they would have to purchase the physical copies.

Even though I own thousands of floppies, on behalf of those who do not buy comics - this feels extremely unfair to them.

I preordered my copies for $42 + Shipping from Midtown Comics and someone who pays 7.99 will have access to the same codes I’ll get?

Again, i don’t care since I collect comics. But imagine the people who do not that were lead to believe they could ONLY get access to these codes by buying $42 worth of comics…

Only to find out later, 7.99 would’ve got them the codes.

Wow.

Hey Parallax!

We’ve tried to be as transparent as possible here on the forums regarding the ways that you can access these comics and gain the codes. I apologise that our messaging wasn’t as good as it could have been. I’ll let the team know about this and we’ll try and improve our messaging going forwards.

Thank you for taking the time to share feedback! It’s always appreciated
