Can’t they just… I don’t know, get tacos instead?
I’m rewatching Batman v. Superman–only reason this issue popped into my head (today).
I think the real question is why would they fight? You can argue mind control or something like that but then neither of them would be fighting to their full capacity.
Both of them have their own morals, and those are just as important as their powers. Batman might plan for the worst but he knows Clark would never willingly do something horrible. Which is why he knows he can win if something does go wrong.
It isn’t about a fair fight. There is never going to be a fair fight between the two of them.
Exactly-in the DC Universe Bruce knows Clark would not jut go totally “Luthor” on the world and would hold back–but if he didn’t, ft he was pissed and determined–no one could stop him–besides maybe Diana.
He is not even in the top 20. Spectre is 1.
Yes, Spectre-as God’s Vengece-could take out Superman, and so did Paralex-but Bats couldn’t without help. That’s all I’m saying. I’m a believer in the Big Blue Boyscout
Thoughts = Batman wins because you can’t take a jog in the DC Universe without running into kryptonite and also he’s Batman.
Well, in that case, if this is still a “good” Superman, then something’s gone wrong with Bruce and that’s a whole different conversation. But if it’s Clark who’s fallen to the dark side, Batman wins because… Batman.
The fact that some writers got away with writing this is meaningless and doesn’t even reflect that anyone cannot find any number of other canon versions that show the opposite, contrary/contradictory message. I mean just for starters, the only source of Kryptonian knowledge in most comic canon is the Fortress, whether Kal ‘taught’ him, he provided him with the access and absent that, all Batgod Plot Armor that someone like Snyder or King infuses Bruce with is meaningless in this particular context. In ten years, Metal will be ignored in the mainline canon, by and large, screen cap this. Particularly since Snyder took off to his own creator owned stuff, unless Substack fully implodes and he needs to earn a living again.
By using a Kryptonite on him, then yes he could.
My apologies if this is someone official I don’t know, but I think this is just fanart and, while objectively funny, means nothing.
It’s definitely a parody, but it does make sense…
It’s official in that it’s a comic strip, just not as popular as say Garfield, but yes, it is a parody and not official DC art.

isn’t that jim not bruce
yes batman has beat superman before many times superman is smart in some ways
he is a medical expert in a lot of comics but he is not a master strategist and tactician
and yes most times batman is smarter then super man because they are suppose to complete each other they are brain and brawn light and dark yin and yang tiger and dragon
Not at face value, but with the context of Clark’s character, kryptonite, Batman’s time to prepare, etc, then it becomes a possibility. If Superman just wanted to murder batman, of course he could just do it, but if he holds back in the slightest or if the story leaves anything for Batman to exploit, he’s going to take advantage of that opening and that’s how he wins.
this but also even when clark is evil he is super attached to batman it’s why in injustice he doesn’t kill him he wants him by his side he would rather mind control him then kill him evil clark is scary he makes you long for death but batman will never get it
I’m loving this conversation. I really think it depends on many things… Clark is very intelligent for sure, but Kryptonite is so powerful against him it’s crazy. That paired with Batman’s cleverness and wit can mean Batman has the chance to beat Superman… but I’m not sure it’s simply a given that in any and every situation Batman wins over Superman
