What do people think of the upcoming detective comics 1000th issue? Do you think it will be worth investing in getting some of the variant covers or do you think it will be too oversaturated?
Like most modern comics, it probably won’t be worth much more than its cover price. That said, $10 is still more money than most contemporary comics go for, so it has a very mild advantage.

Investing? No. Buy the covers you like the most because you like them, not because they’re gonna be worth a lot.

certain retailer variants will fetch obviously. Im only getting the regular Detective 1000 because what kind of Batman fan would I be if I pass on this milestone moment
Probably not, outside of some retailer variants. Even then a lot aren’t worth much more than what you pay. These do open up some interesting yellow label opportunities though if you have some con luck and/or a patient witness.
