DCUI: Downloads seem broken?

I was travelling this past week, and tried downloading some issues on DCUI in case of poor WiFi at relative’s homes.

Downloading seems incredibly broken. Are these issues normal for the app?

  1. Downloading more than one issue at a time is a sure way to have all downloads fail.
  2. Even downloading one at a time, it takes a ridiculous amount of time to download a single issue, more than it would if you were just paging through while connected to WiFi.
  3. Even when you get what looks like a successful download, you sometimes find out that the download is bad/corrupt and the issue is not readable, in whole or in part.

Any tips on getting the app’s download functionality working, or is this broken at the server level?
