DC Video Game Ideas

Have you always had an idea for a DC video game you wish you could see implemented? Post it here.

Personally, I’ve always wanted a GTA-like game where you play as a henchman for hire, taking jobs for villains around Gotham City as you dodge the cops and- when the situation gets really hot- Batman and his allies. Maybe near the end you get a choice on whether to help Joker out with some crazy scheme for a big payout, or decide you’ve had enough, tip off Batman, and help take him down.

Another one I’ve wanted for a long time would be a mobile strategy game where you play as Oracle, dispatching heroes to address crises as they occur in real time.

And Arkham Series style game but instead with Aquaman. Atlantis will be free to roam. Aquaman would be the main character

justice league game with like 5 or 6 players maybe (superman, batman, wonder woman, green lantern, flash and either MM green arrow or aquaman) with different who have a different ability set are in their city and who have their respective abilities and some villains from their gallery, and watchtower and hall of justice, than a branching cause that makes them come together, and if successful they have a sequel with more new character and alternate costumes, there’s also a lot of villains they could use starro, despero, injustice league/lex luthor, crime syndicate, darkseid, vandal savage, brainiac. There’s also planets that you could explore like oa, apokolips. I think it’d be cool if they did this

I’m a little spoiled because between the Arkham series and Telltale Batman, I’ve pretty much gotten my big wishes, but here are some other ideas:

Telltale-style Green Lantern game. The ring’s full capabilities would be difficult to replicate in a more action-oriented game, but a story game would give you control over the characters and decisions rather than the specific ring use.

Arkham-style game focused on Nightwing. Or maybe something more story-driven, but we’re talking more BioWare than Telltale since Nightwing’s skills and abilities are more conducive to action gameplay. I’m just thinking that one of the main things that separates Dick from Bruce is his charisma, so a Nightwing game should reflect that somehow. Maybe make it an open-world thing where you have to go around cleaning up Bludhaven one sidequest at a time, and sometimes that’s helping people with their problems or talking them down, and sometimes that’s beating people over the head with sticks.

Open-world Flash game with a physics system that lets you abuse your super-speed powers. That would be FUN, especially if you could get into boss fights with the various Rogues. There would absolutely have to be a fight with one of the Reverse-Flashes, who would turn out to be immune to your shenanigans due to being just as fast as you are - or capable of even greater shenanigans if it’s Hunter Zolomon.

Puzzle game about escaping supervillain death traps. They could release it as a Batman game but then have DLC for various other DCU escape artists like Mister Miracle or Zatanna.

Total fantasy idea: Justice League Unlimited game where you select a three-hero team out of the full roster for each mission. Maybe something along the lines of how the LEGO games are set up with the multiple levels, open-world hub area, and wide selection of characters. JLU’s been gone for too long for this to happen, but it would be nice.

Also want to second the Oracle strategy game idea just because Oracle is awesome.

A Deadshot game where you get to hunt down a wide range of different characters from the DC universe would be cool too!!! You could maybe even encounter other assassins from the DC universe while on your missions and possibly team up with them!

A Superman game starting at the beginning of his time as Superman, having to deal Luthor attempting to take you down, first using an elaborate death trap then later snaking his way into CADMUS, convincing them that he’s a threat after spinning his first failed attempt to kill Superman look like he was the victim and that Superman is a threat to humanity, forcing Superman on the run from the government, specifically Amanda Waller, and having a few characters origins adapted to fit into the CADMUS storyline, such as having Luthor create Metallo through CADMUS. Then have Waller commission the ultimate weapon to take down Superman, leading into a fight with Doomsday. After witnessing him going out of his way to keep the monster from harming civilians and nearly dying in the process as he’s pursued by the rampaging monster, putting the safety of innocent people ahead of his own convinces Waller that Luthor was wrong about Superman being a threat. However, Luthor doesn’t give up trying to turn the public against him, using the arrival of General Zod as a propaganda tool and having an employee at WLEX start to turn people against him, that employee being Gordon Godfrey. Then, when Braniac shows up specifically searching for Superman, that just fans the flames even more, blaming Superman for Braniac’s arrival and the destruction left in his wake. However, when you’re on board Braniac’s ship, as a last resort, he tells Superman how he knew of his existence, revealing that he got a message from Luthor using technology from Apocalypse to reach him. After defeating Braniac, Supermen takes the device with transmitted message from Luthor that was sent to Braniac and has to break into CADMUS, once again sceptical of his innocence, and deliver the device to Waller, but not before having to fight through the Suicide Squad including a new and improved Metallo, Live Wire, and inmates armed with kryptonite weapons built to take down Superman, with the lights in the building emitting red sun radiation, making the squad more of a threat. Then, when you get to Waller, battered and near death, you give her the device and tell him it was all Luthor, he’s been playing her the whole time, he’s been lying to everyone. Then you collapse. After, you wake up in STAR Labs under a yellow sun lamp that had been healing you, learning that you’ve been out for days. Once you awaken, you’re greeted by Emil Hamilton who delivers some distressing news. He had been analysing the device and found something else inside of it, what appeared to be an invasion plan orchestrated by Luthor, who foolishly believed the invasion would be solely to take out Superman and blamed on him, allowing Lex to be the hero and drive the small invasion force back using high tech weapons he designed using stolen parts stolen from his time with CADMUS. Although he immediately falls victim to his arrogance once the invasion starts.
After getting the news from Hamilton, Superman asks how long they have before the invasion begins. Hamilton tells him that unfortunately, it already has begun, flipping on a news station to show a shattered and badly beaten Lex Luthor in a crushed and ripped apart battle suit, desperately pleading to be spared like they promised they would upon their initial arrangement. That’s when you see an imposing figure step out of the smoke surrounding the battlefield, only showing his silhouette, telling Luthor in a deep and menacing voice that he intends to honor their agreement, and he’ll do so right now, telling him that he will most definitely be spared of the agony of a slow and painful death. That’s when you see Superman on the screen, rescuing Lex before Hamilton even realizes that he left the lab, and that’s when the final fight begins and you come face to face with the invading force, fighting your way through a seemingly endless onslaught of mindless drowns until you come across an old lady. A short cutscene is triggered as Superman tells the woman she needs to get to safety, it’s too dangerous their. Then she laughs and tells him that he’s right, but she’s not the one in danger. Then she calls out, “Darlings, it’s time to defend your deal old Granny.” That’s when the Furries fly out from the ruble and ash emerging through the hoard of parademons, that’s when the fight starts and you have to take down the Furries. Afterwards, an enraged Superman, seeing the death and chaos the invasion had brought forth grabs Granny’s hand that’s holding her weapon, crushes it, lifts her up and stares her in the face, demanding to know where her leader is, because it’s time to end this. That’s when Darkseid steps out from the smoke and backhands Superman through a nearby building. When he comes out, he says, “I guess that answers my question.” Then commands Darkseid to leave and stop this senseless destruction. Then Darkseid laughs and tells Superman that it was over before it began and that he can not be stopped. That’s when Superman launches towards him and you enter the final battle, the face off against Darkseid. Once you defeat him and drive him back to Apokalips, Luthor is arrested and personally taken in by Waller, as she arrives to confiscate any remaining Apokaliptain tech to lock up in a secure CADMUS research facility, to be studied at a later date. For now, she has more important things to worry about, like seeing that Luthor gets the punishment he deserves. Then the game ends with Superman having regained the public’s trust and flying off with a certain reporter for a private interview of sorts. Then, at the very end, the game closes with a scene taking place on Apokalips with Darkseid watching the whole thing. Then he says, “Enjoy your peace while you can Kryptonian, because this was only the beginning.” Then the screen fades to black and the credits role.
Then a post credits scene starts and we see Batman and Alfred in the Batcave, watching the news footage on the Batcomputer, with Bruce remarking to Alfred that Superman got lucky this time, but when Darkseid inevitably returns, he’ll come prepared now knowing his enemy and not underestimating him like he did this time. He says Superman got lucky this time, but when Darkseid inevitably returns, he’ll come back stronger and with a new, more personal sense of purpose, now having an enemy here on Earth, and that they’ll have to ready for when that happens. Alfred asks him what he intends to do when it happens. Then Batman simply replies, “I already have a plan.” Then we see his computer monitor with several windows of footage, each playing a different video, and they’re all depicting different superheroes in action with a phrase at the top of the monitor reading, “The Justice Protocol” setting up for a Justice League game to come later on. Maybe have a few other members get their own games first and tie them together into a shared universe. Ideally, the characters to get their own solo games tying in to the future Justice League game would be Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and the Flash, with the rest of the League introduced in aformentioned Justice League game.

A game where you get to play as a starro sporn, get to hop on the faces of various dc characters, and try to conquer a bunch of planets. The planets would act as large levels.

I do have an idea for a game. Don’t want to get too detailed, since legally speaking, they couldn’t make any game mentioned online.

Long and the short of it, it’d be like Arkham City, but with more characters and no Batman for most of it. It’d be glorious, but never gonna happen.

I’ve always thought that a game where you could play through different storylines as main characters would be cool. Think playing as Barry Allen in Crisis On Infinite Earths, or as Hal Jordan in the Blackest Night. Unfortunately the coding for such a game would take years and everyone would know how the storyline goes. So I’ll settle for any game that lets you play as the Anti-Moniter.

I posted this in the thread asking about an Overwatch style DC game;

I’ve been mulling around an idea for a non-linear, 4v1, Evolve-type “Heroes hunt a Villain” game with an individual character leveling system to unlock more powers.

The Villain would select the map, Point Limit, and get to set up traps, henchmen, and equipment for themselves to use based on the limit.

From there any Heroes joining the match would get to choose their characters based on the Point Limit set by the Villain, with some type of boost if they select under the limit.

Whichever heroes make it though the initial gauntlet would then have to beat the Villain in a face to face fight.

I feel like the variables going into each match could make it so it never gets stale. Like, say someone picks Lex Luthor, they could set up the traps from the original Superman movie, or they could spend all of their points into his super-suit and make it just a strict 4 on 1 fight.

An Arkham-Esque game series for Nightwing!
