Mariko Tamaki is the writer of 11 issues of Womder Woman (2016)

From

WonderWoman (2016) 759

To issue 769
Which.will be available
In our Library on 6/29/2021

This arc is complete
And requires
No prior knowledge of Wonder Woman.

But a lot
Has to be inferred
From both the
Narrator
Dialogue and
Artwork

The only things
The reader needs to know
Is

All is not what it seems

People are acting strangely
And it will take
Several issues
Before who is responsible
Is explained.

The narrator is all knowing.

We only hear
Wonder Woman
We do not know
Her private thoughts.

The narrator is
NOT Wonder Woman.

Regarding issue 759

We see a prison,
Which will not be shown again
Until the last few pages
Of the issue

We see Wonder Woman
In action
In the past

We are told she is an Ambassador.

We are shown
Cheetah
Ares, God of War
Max Lord, who has
Mental abilities

We shift to Washington DC

A group of young athletic women are moving someone into her new apartment.

These are vases, statutes, weapons.

There is no furniture.

There is a bunny on the loose

Diana communicates
With the bunny
As talking to animals
Is one of her super powers

See

A young girl is introduced
Who will be important
Throughout the entire arc.

She is friendly.

Something happened to her as a child.

The two go to a bed store
Which Diana has never been to.

Diana is inexperienced
But smart
Like
In the first episode
Of the Wonder Woman TV series.

She has money
The bed cost nine hundred dollars.

Putting this all together

Diana was at
The Themyscira Embassy
(Where all the stuff comes from)

The movers were fellow Amazons

Diana has decided to get
An apartment
To more fully
Explore the Real World.

Then a woman drives crazily
With a young child in the back

Diana takes off her high heels and starts to run

She doesn’t twirl
To turn into Wonder Woman

She is not wearing her bracelets.

She doesn’t fly.

Maybe that is too conspicuous
But inhuman speed and agility is not?

She saves the day.

The woman driver is distraught
Doesn’t know why she did
What she did.

Back to the prison

There is a riot

Wonder Woman
In full uniform
Including sword and shield
Enters the scene
Spectacularly

A stranger appears
And Ends the riot

It is Max Lord

They confront each other

End of issue 759.

We are use to
Wonder Woman always
Wearing her bracelets
Like in

Why do Amazons wear bracelets?

Does Diana have to wear bracelets?

I finished the arc

It is not an epic
But it is competently done.

Artwise
There are some issues
Where
Diana looks very young.

We are dealing with
Illusions here
And a very physical heroine
Like
Sword and Sorcery
It is hard to balance the two.

Pride
Involves
Diversity
And
Representation

That
We are more alike
Than different.

The
Justice League of America
Represents
Anerican Ideals
But
Kal el, Diana, Jonn and Arthur were not born in America

But
They defended it
And the world

Even in 1950
DC Comics had this poster

We should never forget this.

You know there have been a lot of actors who have played Super-Heroes/Villains and have made the role or seem to be the perfect fit. Personally, I would have to rank Melissa up there with Downey, and Reeve as someone who nailed it perfectly.
