Anyone know what happened to Guillermo del Toro directing a DC Dark Universe movie? I love del Toro and think would be a great director for DC. Especially a Dr. Fate movie!

He is always talking about doing many different things that never get made. It’s best to ignore anything del Torro says he is making until there is an official announcement.
He dropped off the film due to scheduling concerns in order to do Pacific Rim 2. (Of course, he didn’t end up helming Pacific Rim 2 either.) They developed a script, but did not enter any further stages of development.

Interestingly, he was also offered the keys to another Dark Universe, Universal’s, but he turned it down.
