Creating Timelines for DC Characters

wikipedia is sometimes wrong. The 1951 justice society had 7 members: wonder woman, jay garrick, alan scott, hawkman, al pratt, dr mid-nite, black canary. The inactive justice society members maybe can be interpreted as reserve members up to 1951, which explains the wording from wikipedia about these inactive justice society members who were not in the 1951 justice society.

That is a golden age timeline not a JSA timeline. Although they would be very similar.

In comics publication history, the 1951 all star comics (justice society title) was the last place to see some of these golden age heroes who no longer had solo features. There are plenty of flashback stories to the golden age altho can be hard to tell in what years these take place.

Right, I still need to make reading orders for all the characters. If you like you can do it.

internet already has many sites dedicated to the golden age justice society with reading orders.

What timelines/reading orders would you guys like to see? I’m done with the ones I already had and need more to do.

How about a crisis timeline? All the hard/soft resets in the DCU? Crisis on Infinite Earths, Flashpoint, etc.?

Ill get working on that after I finish my homework.

Thanks! Impressive! Identity Crisis and Heroes in Crisis are basically just crisis in name only right? Nothing really got reset continuity wise?

From what I have read the JL get their mind wiped at the end of Identity Crisis. I have no clue about anything Heroes in Crisis accept that everyone hated it (except @Jurisdiction I think), I put it on because I saw it on one or two of the list I used to create the list.

Yeah that sounds about right

I wasn’t crazy about what they did with Wally, but I was very much into the Booster, Beetle, Harley and Batgirl team up.

The “confessionals” we’re great too!

For events, the ones I consider important are:
1> Action Comics 1 (Superman starts the golden age of heroes).
2> Showcase 4, Silver Age Barry Allen starts (this is a reboot that erased Jay Garrick from the default earth). The effects of Showcase 4 were far reaching, such as erasing the golden age superman on the default earth, and up to current time, there is still no golden age superman on the default earth. I prefer dc to restore golden age superman on the default earth by simply not tying the golden age to specific years of world history such as 1938 and world war 2. To have a young superman at current time, Action comics 1 should maybe be about 20 years ago, not 80 years ago.
3> Crisis On Infinite Earths (moved Jay Garrick into the default earth).
4> New 52 (moved Jay Garrick out of the default earth).
5> Doomsday Clock 12 (moved Jay Garrick back into the default earth).

Sure do like Jay Garrick don’t you. (I do also)

The flashes like Jay Garrick, Barry Allen, and Wally West tend to be important in dc events and also in the tv and movies multiverse events.

I bet you can’t do Martian Manhunter. That timeline span million of years. :smiling_imp:

If anything can you do Harley Quinn? Her timeline is fairly linear from the new 52 to now but dealers choice if you can go futher in the pre-flashpoint era.
