Can We Get the Blackest Night Series Added?

I have always wanted to read the series based off of the events of Blackest Night, like the Titans series, the main Green Lantern, and the others. Are they any good. I know they were popular when they first came out. But I was never allowed to read comics back then.

Pertaining to your “are they any good?” inquiry regarding Blackest Night tie-ins, I read everything for Blackest Night as it came out and enjoyed the whole package immensely. The Blackest Night Superman and Wonder Woman mini-series in particular were quite good.

Forgot: if you don’t mind my asking, why weren’t you allowed to read comics a decade ago?

I was 10 and my mother wasn’t sure about them.

Yeah Blackest Night was one of DCs all time best stories. I loved it.

The Essential Edition trade of BN came out recently, but I wonder if a tenth annversary edition (or an omnibus with everything from BN) will be on the way this year.

I would think it’d get an anniversary edition of some kind (that is if the EE isn’t already seen as such).

@Behemoth - Thanks for the request! I’ll be sure to pass it along to the team.

Also, I have to completely agree that Blackest Night series is immensely great!

Totally agree. I just finished rebirth and wanted to dive into that one next.

Does anybody know what the extra content is in the DC Essential Edition? Amazon list the page count as 344 and the regular DC version is listed at 272. I saw that the 10th anniversary edition Omnibus has 1664 pages what other content would this include?

@LP, per Amazon’s listing the Blackest Night Omnibus includes the Blackest Night mini-series itself and all of its tie-ins.

The Essential Edition is listed as featuring Blackest Night #'s 0-8, but is titled Blackest Night Saga. With the “Saga” addition to the title, you’d think additional content would be included. Me thinks it’s Marketing Speak to differentiate the Essential Edition from the original trade that came out in 2010.

@LP, here’s exactly what’s in the Blackest Night Saga trade:

-Green Lantern #43
-Blackest Night #'s 0-8
-Blackest Night Director’s Cut #1
-Untold Tales of Blackest Night #1

The additional material in this Essential Edition explains the page count differences between it and the 2010 trade as well as why the Saga element of the title comes into play.

Thanks for the help. These new trade imprints/series (Essential Edition and Black Label) are confusing because the product listings don’t explain a

I just got the post comment button not meaning to. Any way the listings for some trades show the new versions having more pages but no info on what’s different. Like the Black Label Kingdom Come is listed as having 396 pages while the Absolute and Hardcover Deluxe have 344 and the regular version has 232. I don’t mind buying new versions of trades if there is new stuff in them but it’s head scratching at best if the new paper back versions has more pages than any other versions for the same or slightly higher list price as the older pb. Or as in the case of Kingdom Come get a new version so my old copy doesn’t get worn out.

Again thanks for the help with Blackest Night.

@LPC76, you’re welcome :slight_smile:

I bought each issue of the BLACKEST NIGHT story arc over time at about 3 issues at a time. Peter J. Tomasi and Patrick Gleason contributed mightily.

Blackest Night #0-8,
Blackest Night: Batman #1-3,
Blackest Night: The Flash #1-3,
Blackest Night: JSA #1-3,
