I found BL a bit slow for my taste, and it didn’t feel like a significant variation on the the CW formula which in sorry to say has become stale. I defended it for quite awhile, but it’s grown old even for me.
I’m completely out of CW-verse at the moment though I do intend to finish up Flash, Arrow, and Legends one day.
I will say the slow pace killed my interest in the show. I mentioned before how an hour episode felt like two.
That’s not to say the slow pace was always bad. In some cases, slower episodes allowed for some amazing character development. But those moments were few and far between.
If I have one favorite moment from the series, though, it’s when the students gave Jefferson a standing ovation at school. It was such an amazing moment of support and you could tell Jefferson appreciated it.
Tbh Black Lightning wasn’t the best but in my opinion was a lot better than Batwoman. Batwoman just felt so dull and didn’t really feel like something related to Batman.
