Better way to sort

Okay, so I was wondering what was the best way to sort graphic novels, alphabetically, or date. Please reply.

I personally do alphabetically.

The way I’ve got mine is release date if it’s part of a main series (i.e. Batman, Detective Comics etc.) and then alphabetical if it’s a story outside of that series. (i.e. White Knight)

I sort the entire collection alphabetically, and then each title by date.

I’m all over the board. I sort by series, by creator, and alphabetically. Oh, and also by type of book, example, all my omnibuses on the lowest shelf.
