:superman: :batman: Batman/Superman: World's Finest Discussion Thread (SPOILERS) :batman: :superman:

World’s Finest #11 was a satisfying conclusion to this storyline. My favorite part was the Key invading the Fortress of Solitude with an army of forgotten villains from the 60’s and 70’s (one of whom played a big role in Morrison’s Action Comics). I was glad that Superman decided to trust David and not deprive him of his powers. It shows that things could’ve gone differently for Magog had certain things not happened. As things stand, the conclusion seems to lead to Kingdom Come and the JSA’s “One World, Under Gog” storyline. Though, things could change. Maybe there’s hope for David yet…?

Being I’m a big Metamorpho geek, the fact that he’ll be in this series already makes World’s Finest a contender for Best Ongoing of 2023, and his issues aren’t even out yet. I’m giddy for him to show-up, no doubt.

tugs on his “Make mine Metamorpho!” t-shirt

When it comes to Rex, its as Red Green once said: “I’m pullin’ for ya.”

#11 is at the top of my New Hotness stack, just need to find a few minutes away from work (Come on conference call I can mute myself out of for 30 minutes! Papa needs his World’s Finest fix!) so as to properly dive into its environs.

Metamorpho is one of those charactors who could hold an solo title for years if somebody could crack the code of him. He has a soild supporting cast, maybe could use more villains but I think we could use some of the minor villians for that

Mark Waid wrote a pretty solid Metamorpho mini in the '90s.

Given how Rex is coming up in Waid’s latest tour de force, maybe its a sign of things to come for Rex’s next solo gig? One can hope.

As long as it lasts for two years at least thats all I want.

A two year-long (at minimum) Metamorpho ongoing would be sweet, no doubt.

the Metomorpho arc says it will be batman and supermans strangest adventure yet those are some big words to say

I mean does mark really think he can beat all these

I don’t think he’ll want to beat those, but I’m sure he’ll reference them.

I hope he tosses in a nod or 4 to his Metamorpho series as well.

One does not simply walk into Bob Haney’s house and expect to be the strangest writer.

A Fortress device from Superman 2 made its way into this comic and Batman: Fortress #8 this week.

Don’t click if you don’t want the whole thing ruined:

A story where Batman spends his time in the Fortress of Solitude fighting whatever the heck it is while Superman is gone, only for Superman to come back and transfer his powers to him, making him a SuperBatman?

No thanks!
