Bad dialogue in comics

Been powering through The New Teen Titans lately and while the story and characters are cool. The dialogue is downright bad. Am I alone on this or does anybody else feel this way?

I like it for its charm and it’s light. Sometimes I want to read something light and easy. It has its place.

You think 80’s dialogue in The New Teen Titans is bad? I guess you have never read “golden” or "silver age DC books? Check out the dialogue in the JLA 60’s books that are featured here and then reread those New Teen Titans books. You will be amazed at how good they are. Even as a kid I knew the dialogue in those books dry and colorless when compared to what Lee and Thomas were writing over at Marvel. But you know what, I didn’t care because the stories were engrossing and exciting to a twelve-year-old. Decades later I can still read those charming, campy classics. They were very much a product of the times. 80’s, 70’s or 60’s read and enjoy for what they were–comic books!
