How Superman is able to lift big things without the point load breaking ‘em in half, and…

An answer to this slipped right under my nose when I read John Byrne’s Superman a while back. I talk about it here:

So this one’s always bugged me / been on my mind. Superman is super strong and can lift just about anything. The objects he lifts though do not share his super strength. How can he lift a building or tanker without it crumbling under its own weight, or simply just piercing through it? Only answer I can find in the comics is in Superman #1 by John Byrne (from way back in 1987): [image] So there’s some sort of telekinesis involved?
