Amethyst

And apparently she’s getting her own new book?

Well, rock on then. Any info on the creative team or is it just that a new Amethyst book is coming?

Don-El mentioned Wonder Comics doing it. Not sure if we have any more info yet.

I’m kinda sad that the Amethyst preview in the Legion of Super-Heroes is not restored. The artwork is so Good!

@Mae Have you watched the Animated Shorts of Amethyst in the Shorts section ?

I did watch that and it was very cute and very anime. Like I said earlier, I would love it if DC Universe came out with an original animated series, that could be really sweet, since she’s a really powerful hero!

Lest ye all think me mad…

Awesome news! Thank you. She deserves more attention from the DC fandom and hopefully becomes a larger figure. Maybe even appear in live action, maybe on the CW?

That’d be swell if Gail Simone can write the new Amethyst book, alongside her Flash gig.

A CW or DCU Amethyst show would be great. The TV worlds of DC are nicely varied in genres, but I’m unaware of anything substantial in the fantasy realm (other than the animated DC Primal Age shorts and those were commercials).

Im all for more Gemworld comics.

In the spirit of the DC/MotU crossovers, I would like a She-Ra/Amethyst teamup mini series.

@Mae,

I believe that DCCP #63 is the comic that made Amethyst an official part of the DCU, as DCCP was considered “canon” at the time. The 1987 Amethyst miniseries definitely needs to be added to the library. The artwork by Esteban Maroto is gorgeous, and the story establishes Amethyst’s connection to the Legion of Super-Heroes (Gemworld is the Sorcerer’s World/Zerox).

Is this the new Amethyst book that was mentioned earlier? Or is there another one?
